The call had scared Iedaene, rather badly. A screaming voice in her head, the first sound she'd heard outside her imagination. Still, she had been pulled to this place, crowded with her overseas brethren, stinking and hot...she still didn't even know why she had been forced to come here. At least the noise of the crowd didn't bother her, but being deaf in the mess certainly had its setbacks. She hadn't heard the Euclide brawl inches away from her, and watched in horror as the creature in front of her was mauled by a black leonine. She quickly scrambled away, to her faction, where at least she might be moderately safe.
She had shifted into human, maybe not the wisest choice, but the slender form was easier to slip through the gaps in the crowd, and it allowed her to speak the only way she felt comfortable. She touched the bangles on her arm, running her hands over them to calm herself. Many Defore seemed to be here, maybe he would be here too, and her search would finally end. She scanned the crowd, looking for that familiar face and form from long ago in her memory, as well as any she might recall. The crowd was stifling, and she felt so very alone in the silence.

He was not one to follow the orders of others, but he couldn't resist the strange call. He found himself on the way to where ever it was he, and all the other Euclides, Amuni, and Defore were going. He ignored all the fuss of others in the crowd. How strange that an Insanity would try to keep peace at such a time? He walked smoothly about the crowd, not wanting to waste energy by flying. He simply watched with amusement as several Amuni and Euclides held fights, and was even more amused by the sight of two handsome Puppet Masters working out their differences here. The Insanity did not find this to be the right time to fight. "Strange, don't you think," there was no one around him that cared of what he had to say, infact, not a soul was listening to him. Yet he continued, "That we were all called upon, therefore we are all in the same situation," who was this Avain talking to, possbily the voices within his head? "And instead of working together to find the source of the strange call, we are fighting and fussing." He continued on his way until he came across a strange Equine. He had heard stories about the overseas brethern of Euclide. He didn't worry himself when the Feline Puppet Master flung himself in the Defore's direction, for she got away safely. And the Insanity simply watched as the creature shifted into human form. "Human form may not be the safest here..." he said to the now human Defore.

A Euclides was speaking to her, strange, she had heard they were a wild, murderous species. But they also had reputation for an aristocratic charm that were meant to woo her prey. She couldn't afford to be rude. It was the first time she had seen an avian, and reading his beak for the words was near impossible, but she managed. She gave a helpless shrug and spread her hands, clapping one against her ear gently, her normal signal that she couldn't hear. She hoped he would understand, she did not do it for vanity.

The Insanity had nothing against the Defore. He knew nothing about them, how could he possibly hold anything against the beautiful creature? However, he did not trust her for the same reason.
He simply looked at her with a confussed look. Oh, she's deaf? Well, certainly she could read his beak? Ha, he must be crazy, reading a beak would be rather difficult. "Oh," he said, now understanding her gesture to her ear. "I see..." he had so much to say, but she would not hear him. It must be difficult, never being able to hear what one has to say, almost as difficult it is to live with strange stares when one gets when talking to the voices within one's head.
Should he move on? No, that'd be rude, and he wanted some company. Whether such company was deaf, blind, or mute, and even if the company isn't of his species. Walking to a complete mystery alone didn't sound like fun to him, especially with all the fussing and fights going on nearly everywhere.

Laekubi allowed herself a mocking smirk at the Poison's comments. It was true, she was battling her bloodlust rather nicely among these pressing bodies. However, any intelligent being simply had to look at her eyes to see the fever burning there, the almost over coming urge. It almost upset her that the fight was over. Perhaps there could have been more gore here, with the two rivals and the other Master. Ah, well. It was a pity, but she wouldn't dwell on it.
The large-boned Ravashkaebi watched with amusement. My, my, the Masters were on edge today it seemed. And the Blood canine was set to break any moment, or so it seemed from her expression. Lifting her maw, she cringed inwardly as she caught the scent of Amuni, and a tinge of Defore. She had nothing against the latter, seeing as how she'd never met one.
"As amusing as this was, I don't feel the need to get myself killed while you all sort out your little tiffs. It was nice seeing the legendary Jiaro in the flesh, and the equally as stunning Jien." She gave a barely discerable nod, "And Laekubi, the One Without the Top Hat."
She was deliberately baiting them. Would they feel the need to show her one was better?

She could read his disappointment, and she debated on how to converse with this foreign cousin of hers. She had promised herself that she wouldn't speak until she had ended her search, until the words she needed to say to her lost friend were said. But this avian was not of her race, surely she could make an exception for him. And even though reading the beak was difficult, she could make it out, that combined with his body language was enough for her to understand him.
She took a deep breath and smiled. Her voice came, a pretty song but slighlty slurred for using vowels she couldn't hear and could only do a slight mimic. She was ashamed of how she must sound, but she didn't want to be alone, as desperate for company as the other. Besides, he seemed a formidable one, and if she were to stay in this chaos of hot tempers, she would rather not make enemies with him.
"I...I can understand you, alot of what you say. The beak only makes it...a little difficult," she brushed her hair over her face shyly, not sure how to do a handshake, but eventually deciding a small curtsy. "I...am Iedaene. Your...name, sir?"
The words were slow in coming, having been unused in a long time. She hoped he would not take it as a sign of retardation, as some had done before. The blush was scarlet over her pale cheeks, ashamed of having to use her voice.

Sirib and Sinnarnbi talked for a while, catching up. They were both eyeing the crowd for the same reason. Both had been partners in seduction a while back, and this was a lovely oppurtunity. Sirib had her eye on a certain black and white Avian Euclide that was talking to a human-shape shifting Defore. Her knack for getting jealous over any female raged, even though she had no idea who this handsome Euclide was. She looked at Sinnarnbi and said ,"Look over there." She motioned to the avain, and Sinnarnbi smiled, "Let's go." They both slunk over in a very feline fashion, crouched low, trying to manuver their way through the croud. They sat a couple feet away from the talking Euclide and Defore, and Sirib used her desire nature, laying down and staring straight at him in a very curious fashion.

A pair of feline Euclide caught Endenu's eye, and he watched them. They approached another pair, an avian Euclides talking to a human-form Defore, and Endenu's interest was further piqued. Endenu watched the affair from his spot near the wall, and another of his slight smiles appeared as the white and black tiger-striped Euclides made her move. A coy one, that, he thought to himself, and let his gaze wander to her red and black companion. But is she just going to leave her lovely friend to watch? Perhaps I can remedy that, Endenu thought. I wonder if Euclide can be as easy to court as some Defore... or if this will be more of a challenge.
He turned to dig around in the pack slung over his back, arousing some curious looks from those near him, which he ignored. Finding what he was looking for, he plucked the delicate object from the bag, and stood, carrying the object carefully in his mouth.
He made his way through the crowds to the red and black Euclides, who seemed a bit preoccupied watching her companion, the avian Euclides, and the human Defore. Walking close to her, he placed the object directly at the female's feet, though not before taking one final glance to affirm the lack of attached males near her.
The dim light reflected off a small, but finely crafted rose, made of gold.
You shouldn't let your friend have all the fun, Endenu commented, a mischevious grin gracing his face, as he awaited her reaction.

He smiled, which happened to look very odd with his beak, how kind of her to use her voice for him. He coughed, however. He wasn't sure how to reply, he'd never spoken with a Defore before, much less any deaf creature. "I am sorry, the beak can annoy many" he blushed under his feathers, a good thing they hid his now reddened cheeks. "I am Kaeji'Maye, it is a pleasure to meet you, Iedaene." He was happy that she didn't bite his head off, like several Euclide and many Amuni would do. Perhaps this race was more peaceful?
Suddenly Kaeji's voice pointed out a female, who was staring at the Avain. Suddenly he felt oddly uncomfortable, and eyed Iedaene to see if she'd noticed the creature. His feathers rustled as he sat under the uncomfortable stare. Then Rayike simply told the Insanity to turn his back and face the Defore better. He followed the voice's orders and turned his back to the staring Euclide.

Iedaene did feel the Euclides' stare, making her blush deepen. It wasn't that she was not used to the eyes on her, but the use of her voice had made her more self-concious than usual. But the focus seemd to be more upon her avian friend (could she call him that so soon?) than her. But she did her best to ignore the piercing gaze, even though it made mer uncomfortable.
"Pleasure...is mine Kaeji'Maye," she gave another of her light smiles, playing at the bangles on her arms, nervousness, not so much of him but of the people she could feel coming closer. "The beak...not annoying...I'm inexperienced. I have never spoken with...avian."
She wasn't sure how to carry on the conversation as well, but with a euclides so well manned perhaps it wouldn't be so much of a trial. As he sat, so did she, not wanting to show superiority in the least. Cross-legged in her human form, he seemed to dwarf her, but hse didn't mind. She gave the female euclides a quick glance as the avain turned to face her. She looked at him questioningly, tilting her head slightly. "Do you...know her? I don't want to hold you...from your kin."
The speaking was becoming easier, especially since this one didn't seem to mind her slow hesitation. She noticed out of the corner of her eye another Defore, presenting a rose to another Euclides. Such boundaries were being crossed tonight, and she couldn't say she minded on her part, but what would it do in the future?

Sirib was not used to being ignored. She stood up, knowing that the pair had at least noticed her, and looked at her friend. Sinnarnbi had seemed to find another male to 'play with' so she rolled her eyes and walked slowly over to the Avian and Defore. She sat down beside them, swished her tail and said, "Hello there." She eyed the Avian up and down, with a playful smile starting on her lips. She then looked at the Defore and said, "Am I disturbing anything?" She then looked back at the Avian with a wink.
Sinnarnbi looked at the rose and looked at the Defore that had decided to take notice of her. Putting on her sexiest posture, she said, "Oh no, I'm here in case she needs help fending off all the jealous females." She smiled coyly at him and said, "Thank you for the rose.." She stood up and walked around him, swishing her tail, "Who might you be?"

((Likewise, sticking with my part, so anything from me will be on the Euclides/Defore ish sort of theme or whatnot. Endenu will also be speaking in orange from now on, unless this is a problem for anyone =) ))
Endenu grinned broadly at the Euclides; this was going to prove interesting. "I can imagine a pair like you would indeed cause quite a fuss, both admiration from males and envy from the females," he replied.
His eyes trailed her as she circled him. "I am Endenu, born amongst the Lakota of the American northwest, and artisan by trade." He bowed low, with a flourish, as the light glinted off his jewelry. "And you?" He cocked an eyebrow, returning her coy gaze with one of his own.
"I must admit," he added, "this is my first encounter with one of your species." He continued to watch her, head tilted slightly. "And I don't think I could have chosen a more lovely Euclides than yourself to... speak with. It is a pleasure."
He awaited her response, pleased that she'd accepted the gift, and, for the time being, his company.
