It was one of those late night soirees, the sound of light laughter and music tinkling in a vague melody down the shadowed, empty streets. The large lighted windows beckoned from the darkness, enticing and memsmerizing as lighted eyes. China doll figures swirled and dance behind the glass panes, under chandeliers of crystal, the flames dancing off of the jewels that clasped at their hair, wrists, chests and necks. These bright stars were what held Ja'mediahs' attention. The look in his eyes as he watched them flashed a savage hunger that contrasted sharply to his otherwise gentlemanly appearance. He crouched low on the rooftop across from the gaily lighted building, waiting for the party to end and the bejeweled nightingales to make their way home. Several more pieces would be added to his collection this fine night.

Aribas'tama was searching for the new director she had heard of before. "Any director in my world must be prooven worthy of their position." She said to herself. She wasn't having any luck yet but there was still hope. Aribas'tama looked into a window and saw hgumans dancing around like fools. The light from the shiny articles beamed into her eyes. She put her head down and pawed at her face. "Stupid huumans! Stupid naked beasts! Don't they know not to try to hurt me already?" She looked behind her and re-ajusted to the lighting. Craver lurked up to her with his rat, San on his shoulder. "No luck so far eh?"

There were other Euclides down there. A young Murder type, whose cry he could hear from even his high perch. Apparently she had blinded herself in the glare of the window. His lip curled slightly in twisted amusement. A Cannibal soon appeared at her side, a rat upon his shoulder. He watched them vaguely for awhile, then went back to observing the dance and the true gleam in his eye. One of the women posessed an almost collar woven with diamonds and tiny star sapphires. That would definitely be added tonight.
He made no motion to go down and greet the other Euclide from his rooftop vigil. He had no want for company, preferring only the silent gleam of gold.

"Come out come out where ever you are!" Aribas'tama yelled out to the male. "I am Aribas'Tama! I am also a fellow director. I am here to see another of my kind, which you are the first one besides me I have yet heard of. I have come to see if you are worthy of your position and if the word that is out is true!" She stood up on her hind legs and morphed into her anthro morphic form. Unikeaj stood up and did the same as Aribas'tama. San slipped off Unikeaj's back as he morphed. "Hey! lift me back up there!" He screeched at him. Unikeaj bent down and picked up San in his hands and sat him on his shoulder. San looked in the window and watched the beautiful shiny objects move around. Instantly he fell in love with them. "What are they?" He jumped off Unikeaj's shoulder and landed on the window ledge. "They are jewels. They're gorgeous arnt they?" Unikeaj walked to the window. Aribas'tama put out a claw and cut a circle in the glass of a store and disappeared into the store. She came out wearing a human male's suit. It was a class B suit and was finished off with a top hat and a cane. "Like it? It fits purrrrfectly." She grinned and walked toward them. "Wow you look gorgeous my majesty! I think you look like a puppet master with that top hat." He looked at her for a moment and then looked back at the window. Unikeaj walked into the store and came out wearing a red suit and a cane with a dragon's head at the top. "I love stealing from humans." He smiled and pulled at the collar of the suit. His chains were hidden but his metal chocker was not and it was highly visible.

Ja'mediahs gave an irritated sigh, rubbing his temples. The female was a director, one that wanted to judge him. Ja'mediahs honestly didn't give a damn what other people thought of his director's ability, as he wasn't part of a cast yet and didn't plan to be so anytime soon. He had a theatre he haunted, but no cast, save that ditzy marionette and the Insanity that dropped by at times to assure him that yes, the whole world was still full of morons. And these two weren't proving the assumption contrary, in the least. They were going to ruin the hunt, trapaising around in human garb like that. It was lucky the party was a masquerade, or they'd definitely be noticed, which is what they were shooting for, it seemed. Ja'mediahs preferred a subtle approach, but the young ones these days...he muttered several curses under his breath and decided to make his appearance, so the two wouldn't completely spoil the night.
He leapt down from the rooftop, landing easily onto the ground with a grace he didn't often display. He didn't bother to switch forms, not yet, instead fixed the two with a dry look. His voice was carefully disdainful as he spoke. "Ja'mediahs," he said lightly, scrutinizing the pair. "Director," he added, as an afterthought.
"Now what exactly did you want, young lady, that would cause you to track me down and ruin my evening?"
The statement was painfully blunt, lacking any sort of politeness. Then again, Ja'mediahs as a whole lacked any degree of politeness.

Aribas'Tama grinned once the male came down. He had given in to come to them and thats exactly what she wanted soon she would be gone. She nodded to him once he had introduced himself. "I am Aribas'tama, director of Jiaro's cast-to-be. This is my puppeteer cannibal, Unikeaj and my rat servant, San" She frowned a bit at his rudeness. San and Unikeaj bowed at their introductions. "I wanted to welcome you to these lands, for I believe you are new. May I ask is what you plan to do include something with those foolish humans in that there building?" Aribas'tama pointed to the window with the dancing lights inside and looked toward the window then back at him. Unikeaj walked over to the window. "If you do could you tell us what because I believe we might ruin your whole evening if you don't because of our plans." Unikeaj spoke his deep voice so matured from being as old as he was. Aribas'tama was not all mature for she was still young and was female, But her voice was not like a scrawny females voice. Her voice was more male like, it was getting deep and it was very mischievous.

He gave her a wry glance. "I am not new to these lands, I merely keep a low profile. However you're welcome is...appreciated."
Jiaro, the name rang bells. Jiarokumo. He knew of the ancient cat. If this was to be his director, then he would step lightly. He had no want of angering the near godlike figure. His gaze lingered to the spinning figures, and he waved a paw in their direction. His voice was curt, but coldly civil. "I'm hunting for their jewels. My collection needs further expanding, and this gala holds some of the richest denizens of the city."
He looked Aribas'tama coolly in the eyes, utterly ignoring Unikaej and San. She had called them her servants, so they were of no concern to him. "And you're plans would be?"

"This must be why I have just heard of you. That or maybe it is because I am still young." Aribas'tama noticed the change in his voice a little. She took a quick moment to think about it. 'Why did he change his voice was it because of she had servants?Because she was a fellow director? Was it because she was in a cast? No she figured it out... Jiaro. So if he is changing his attitude a bit because of Jiaro then had he ever come in contact with him, or was it because he was only being cautious in case Jiaro was around.' She looked at the male and thought of his type. He was a brown, red, violet, and yellow euclide. He was most likely a sin but he was brown instead of black which was odd. The top hat on his head hid the upside down cross that would determine his type. "They are nice, the jewels. I believe thats what they are called. I have never seen objects so shiny and beautiful as they are." San could not take his eye off of one jewel it was red and it was on a thick chained gold necklace around a red curly haired woman. "I plan to go in and act like a human steel a few trinkets for Jiaro to add to his collection of things. That and I haven't ate in days and neither has my group." She grinned wide and noticed San was staring at a lady and her necklace. ((what do you think about this topic? Do you like the long posts?))

((The posts are a good length ^_^))
Ja'mediahs couldn't help but be a little angered that these two were going to ruin his usual hunting routines. He preferred to stay as far away from the humans as possible, seeing them as nothing more than stupid cattle with pretty things. Gifts they were unworthy of. But if she were to crash the party, well then it would be more difficult to pursue a running prey, and they might take the jewels he himself had an eye for. He couldn't allow that.
"Well then, Aribas'tama, I think I will have to join you in your escapade," he said lightly, not really offering her a choice in the matter. "Surely as a Director, you understand my desire to pursue my hunt."
He shifted smoothly into his anthromorphic form, a tall, imposing figure with a lean build. He gave her a tight-lipped smile as he slipped into the tailoring store that she had vandalized, coming out moments later in a suit of the French design. The white coat was longer than those of the English tailored, sweeping about his knees and embroidered in delicate and fascinating designs of black thread about the hem and sleeves. He couldn't hold with the tight french stockings however, so he used instead the loose black trousers. A snow white cravat of lace hung at his throat, fastened with a burnished silver pin shaped like a twisted serpent biting it's own tail. The cane he held with easy grace was one of those wicked affairs, carved of ebony with a small switch near the serpent's head top that would cause a sharp blade to slip from the end. His top hat and glasses added an aristocratic air to his whole bearing, almost regal in its elegance. One of his sins was vanity after all, he knew how to make an appearance.
He walked past Aribas'tama, giving her a sideways glance as he headed for the sweeping doors. "Coming, then?"

Siyaebi had been watching for a while now, so these were Jiaro's puppets then? The Cannibal and the Murder. Just as he had explained. Well, seeing as Jiaro was busy at the moment, she had decided to go exploring herself. She was in human form, lovely and curvaceous as always. She wore a clinging silk dress of fine gold and black which was of course, Egyptian styled. Her long, straight black hair was held up and pinned with a gold piece. Her eyes were stunning surrounded in black makeup, she looked very much like a bronze skinned china doll. Wandering closer, she made as if she were a simple human, curious if they'd stop their conversation or chatter on foolishly in front of what could be a human audience. After growing tired of her games, she finally spoke. "Jiaro's new recruits. Just as I imagined, and as he said. I am Siyaebi, a name you'll often hear, I'm sure. Are you attempting to lure this one into the Cast? You'd do well to speak with my lord first." Confidence, but she was not a blind fool. She was simply solid in her devotion to Jiaro, and knew that he preferred her above all else. With this priviledge came the responsibility of looking out for Jiaro and keeping an eye out on his behalf. It simply wouldn't do for that lovely skin to be scratched... in anger, of course. "On a hunt perhaps? I may be of assistance there... after all, this human form must have some... other uses." A faint enigmatic smile touched her painted lips, and she turned to the Director. "I can see why they'd have interest in you. May I ask for your name?" She was polite, simply because she could be. She had her moments, after all.

"Siyaebi?" Aribas'Tama thought about her last visit with Jiaro he was in human form so this must be a marionette. "Aribas'tama, this is my cannibal Unikeaj, and my rat San. You must be the other member of the cast." She pulled into a smile and half bowed at another member's presence. "No. I can't get this one in the cast. There can only be one director, And that is I. Surely you should know that. I am only seeing who the fellow director, who I had heard of, was." She started to get slightly cocky but stopped herself for she had no reason to for it wasn't a human but a euclide. Unikeaj bowed to the pretty female, he was slightly attracted to her which was unusual. "Madam." He smiled a bit but it fell off because it burned his face. San nodded his head. "I am pleased to meet you. I am your servant as well then if you are in the cast-to-be." He looked at her pretty hair pin then looked back into the window and searched for the red ruby necklace. "Sir if you do plan to take gems may I please have that thick gold necklace with the red ruby?" He didn't move his head or body because he found the red haired lady. "Yes I am coming." Aribas'tama walked after Ja'mediahs' toward the doors. San jumped off the window ledge and onto Unikeaj's shoulder. "Off we go unikeaj!" San put his claws into the shirt as Unikeaj walked quickly to the doors. ((Im sorry that this post is shorter but onlky because I had little to reply to))

Ja'mediahs was an appreciator of beauty, as this new marionette was an excellent example of exotic elegance, but contrary to Unikaej, he wasn't exactly pleased with her appearance. More euclide added to his usual solitary hunt, the irritation was at great lengths held back. By the exchange between the two parties, she was another one of Jiarokumo's. It must be foul luck that he kept running into the affairs of the ancient cat, he wouldn't be surprised if he made a sudden appearance, something Ja'mediahs dreaded. He did have a sense of self-preservation after all.
But he couldn't afford to be rude to the god's puppets. It would be a stretch for him, but he would try to quell his arrogant coldness. He offered a slight bow toward the egyptian femme. "Ja'mediahs. A pleasure, Siyaebi."
He looked over her form, coquettish in black silk, but his eyes flickered quickly to the gold adornments. Yes, she cut a fine figure of a human. It would be easier to get in if at least one of them looked human by normal standards. He attempted a smile and offered his arm, stiffly. "You are welcome to accompany, m'lady, there is nothing to stop you. Does your lord allow you to take another's arm?"
He would have to step carefully about the beauty. Jiarokumo might be possessive, especially this exotic china doll, and he liked to have his head on his shoulders, thank you very much. He acknowledged San's request barely. He had no want of the red jewel, he already had one as large. His collection needed more silver as a matter of fact.

She offered a half smile of surprise, and then shook her head, laughing. "Another Director, is he? That explains it then. Too bad, but our Cast to be is growing enough as it is." She sighed and played with a stray strand of hair, tucking it behind an ear. "Your... Cannibal? Surely, he must have more of a violent streak than to be a pet! I've heard such stories about Cannibals... it would be a pity to see one... domesticated, so." She frowned softly, and it seemed to fit perfectly onto her normally expressionless face.
"It is a pleasure to meet you both at last, Aribas'Tama, Unikaej." She did a slight, sweeping bow to both and then straightened herself, petting at the lace and satin which clung to her figure. "I require no servants, but it is nice to meet you anyway, San." It was true, she preferred to rely on herself. Only really wanting the company of Jiaro, and even then, her solitary moments were a must. She did not compromise her independence.
She chuckled at the introduction of Ja'mediahs, he really didn't need to pretend so around her. She was a master of body language, and his spoke volumes to her. "I apologise if I have been intruding, and appreciate your politeness despite your seemingly agitated state. It is a pleasure to meet you nonetheless, Ja'mediahs. It's unfortunate that you are a Director, and seem to prefer a solitary life." It was a compliment, most definately. An honest one too. He had a backbone, and his irritation and loner nature were so interesting to her. Social butterflies would make Jiaro look like the master of cheap whores. Siyaebi socialized only when necessary. And only then.
"I'm sure he would, it is for a good cause. There is plenty to stop me, Ja'mediahs, I do not wish enemies and respect the wishes of others who have more reason to be on this territory than I do. But if it really doesn't bother you so, I'd gladly assist in your theft." She moved with him, glad that at certain angles his top hat hid most of his face so that he merely seemed the shy human genleman with his bold lady. An easy play to pull off.
She was Jiaro's prize catch, and she knew this. She understood easily his discomfort with even touching her delicate skin, but she also knew that this was for both their own seperate benefits. Surely Jiaro would love her to return with something precious for him, to stash or keep for himself.

The Marionette was certainly observive, with a coy sort of intelligence. He admired that, seeing as the only Marionette he knew seemed to have the brain of a toddler and an annoyance to match. He smiled lightly, rare for him. "I thank you for understanding."
It would make it easier if he didn't have to feign the politeness for much longer, but he would still have to hold back the customary snappish roughness of his tone. But still, if she could read his body language so easily, what did it matter? Her arm was warm against his, the first contact he had had in a while, but her grace was complimentary to his regal step. The appeared almost as royalty as they swept up the stairs and to the main doors, heavily carved in the finest woodwork, and gilded with enough gold to make his eyes light hungrily. But he could not having something so large in his collection. The doormen, trained to recognize class and elegance, let them in with no further looks. For that, they were lucky, they might've saved their lives that night.

Aribas'tama sneered at the door men and slipped San into her pocket so he could go in unseen. "Tisk tisk. A rat in your pocket m'lord? Why do you carry around such a dreadful thing?" The doorman went to reach for the rat. Aribas'tama grabbed his hand and spoke in her deep maleish\femaleish voice. "Whether it is a rat or not sir it tis mine and you shall not touch it. And just for a reminder, I am female." Her silver eyes peered out from under her shiny black hat.
"Um yes madam excuse my partner, he shall not do it again." The other door man shot the other man an angry glance and made a note to report this to their boss. "Yes I doubt he will be doing anything again after tonight." Aribas'tama smiled showing her sharp crystal white teeth.
Unikeaj offered his arm to Aribas'tama following Ja'mediahs. Aribas'tama took unikeaj's arm and smiled looking into his eyes. The cannibal was more than just her partial slave, he was her lover. They never showed it because they did not want to mess with their rep. Not ever poor San knew, If he did well he might try to hurt unikeaj, even though he would never succeed in doing so.
Unikeaj grinned and knew he was bound to be getting some tonight (if you catch my drift) *Wink wink* The couple walked into the room just as a new song was being played by the band of musicians. The instruments were making beautiful sounds, Unikeaj had never heard this song but he liked it."May I have this dance m'dear?" Unikeaj turned to his mate. Aribas'tama smiled She placed one hand into his and the other on the shoulder as he took her waist. The danced across the floor in rhythm with the song.
San jumped onto the coat of the woman who wore the jewel he wanted. he unclipped the back and let one side slip down the side of her neck. He pulled it back up and jumped down and ran under a table avoiding the dancing feet of the humans. The woman didn't notice it at all, she was to busy enjoying the dance.
