The grass smelled sweet and the dew shone on a few stalks, slowly beginning to evaporate in the dry dawn air. There was a small chiming sound, as though there were invisible bells being blown by the wind. She padded gently through the undergrowth, taking great pains not to break any plant stems as she made her way toward a well beaten path. The mask that his her face was a beautiful marbling of purple and green, the small, metal ornaments dangling from her body, chimed against each other softly as she moved. The Masquerade moved out of the bushes and onto the path, delighting in the first rays of sun that struck her face in patches through the trees. She was smiling, appearing genuinely happy, the edges of her silver beak turned up slightly at the edges. Furl had done well, that beautiful little one she had seen him with would be joining her Court soon...the idea thrilled her, having insight to another Cast was always a welcome thing, even if it did cost her some fresh fish every now and again, besides...the girl was quite a beautiful asset...and fantastically dim-witted. A wondrous tool to use in learning about others in the area. The Masquerade's footsteps were light, she almost seemed to dance down the path as she headed back home, her demeanor was only betrayed if you knew to watch her eyes. They did not share in the delight the rest of her body appeared to be taking in life, they sparkled...Indeed they did, but the light reflected from them was cold. She watched the area around her cautiously and continuously, as she pranced along the hard-packed earth.

Erigonebi heared the bells before she saw the form of the patchwork. It frightened her quite a bit, and she cursed under her breath at herself. She really shouldn't be away from Momma Dad at such a young age, it was something that he told her often, but she had wanted to explore the forested area. The phrase 'curiosity killed the cat' seemed alot more plausible now, and she jumped into a bush on the side of the path to hide. Wide eyes waited. Humans couldn't venture into this place, as Euclide were constantly in the area, and it would be a mortal mistake for them to step foot here. However, Euclide had to worry about other Euclide too, and her being as young as she is, she would be a prime candidate for an attack if that is what the other Euclides wanted. She breathed deep and quietly, to keep herself calm and unnoticed. It was only a couple of moments before she could see the oncoming figure of Dayobi. She looked nice enough, but her Momma Dad told her never to judge a book by it's cover, especially when dealing with Euclide. [OOC: Sorry I know it's really short ;. Thanks for letting me join ^^;.] Erigonebi: 1 / 15 [/size]

Dayobi and Erigonebi were not the only ones wandering the copse in these early morning hours. Another pair crouched in the shadows of the heavy trees, speaking in soft voices as Hecatesi'iba patiently went about her lesson on the uses of Deadly Nightshade with the child who stood patiently at her side. Hecate's voice was a sultry note on the morning air, those accented words such a contrast from the local English men and women. Indeed, it was that mysterious allure which held the child at her side in place. Jarrulokaetame had spent a majority of his young years trying to follow in his father's footsteps, to be suave and cool, only to find that his paws were not big enough to follow his path. Jarrulo was a child still, young even by bebe standards, but he was painfully mature for his age and had allowed himself to lose much of his childish wonder. It was a wonder which was now being retrained into him by the 'Witch Queen' who currently instructed him on the varied uses for Deadly Nightshade. The private lesson ended abruptly with the chime of bells in the approaching distance, and Hecate placed a few sprigs of the plant she was harvesting in the basket has young 'assistant' held before raising up to her feet. Currently in human form, the gorgeous marionette stood mostly in the nude save for various accessories which shielded some of her nudity from the outside. Raven locks spilled from beneath the floppy witch's hat upon her head, emerald gloves adorned her slender hands and cloak fell around her lithe body though it did little to conceal her once she rose. A staff was held in her right hand and she leaned on it slightly as she surveyed the surrounding area with glowing golden orbs. At last the chime of bells brought with it the grape-adorned Masquerade and a wide grin touched the witch's features. What was this? A follower of the God of Grapes? Beckoning wordlessly to Jarrulo, she stepped forward. "Chairete, daughter of Dionysus!" She purred out, dipping her head in greeting. "Lovely morning is it not?" As a Magician and a Marionette, Hecate was an odd soul but a boldly friendly one as well. Much to the opposite of the reserved child at her side. Blushing slightly at his mentor's use of Greek, a trait he'd been trying to help her out of, the canine lifted his voice and with surprising results. As quiet as he was, he had a voice that could entrance the soul. Sweet and soft, like a lullaby of spoken poetry. "Good morning, miss."Jarrulokaetame: 1 / 15

Dayobi paused, taking in the sudden appearance of the youngling Feline. She smiled, though a keen observer would note that the smile did not quite reach her eyes. She reached out a paw, trying not to scare the young thing; she looked jittery enough as it was. Kind words were in order.
"Good day, my friend, a lovely day indeed to be making new acquaintances." She gently placed her paw over the young one's. "I am the Lady, Dayobi. Who is it that I have the pleasure of addressing?"
She smiled and coaxed the child toward her. "Why don't you come with me? I go to no enclosure, and you may leave when you like, who knows... we may encounter new friends."
Moving forward, still looking at the child beside her, she was surprised to be hailed from up ahead.
Her gaze moved from the small Feline to a human..no...Euclides in human form. "Well, that's topped off the morning..." Dayobi thought, mood brightening considerably. "What a charming looking lady...oh...and another child? How marvelous"
She dropped into a slight bow, keeping her head up and her eyes focused on the dark haired maiden. The bells jingled softly as she knelt into, and then swiftly out of, the bow.
"Chairete, to you as well, my dear, the day is the most wondrous I've happened upon in a while." She said, voice calm, but perfectly happy...she was almost purring. "And good day to you, young master." She inclined her head politely in the direction of the silver tongued young Canine...
She watched him after he had turned away from her... Then gazed back between the tiny Feline and the human formed delight before her...she would simply have to invite them to her Court...she simply must have these beauties in her Court...or possibly even her Cast... She smiled again, it finally reached her eyes.
"I am the Lady, Dayobi. Might I have your names?" She enquired, holding out a purple scaled paw.

Jarrulo's tense expression melted with relief once the witch's eccentric greeting was accepted with that purring response. The brilliance that swept into the woman's eyes upon that familiar greeting made it obvious she had seen right, this was a friend to Hecate's oddities. It was a fact that would've made most cringe if they had apparently been so put off by the witch alone, but Jarrulo melted. By the time his Lady sauntered toward their new companion, he was smiling warmly...and came to the sudden realization that the feline that had approached with Dayobi was no absent. Hm. Odd. She must've been frightened away. Slowly he pushed the Figment from his mind and focused on the sound of the witch's cheerful greetings once she warmly clasped Dayobi's outstretched paw. "Lady Dayobi. It is indeed a most wonderful morning." The spice of old Greece which layed in her smooth words was heavier today than usual, but it was luckily not unpleasant to the ears nor did it mar the quality of her English. "I am the Witch Hecatesi'iba, but you may call me Hecate." Her golden eyes gleamed with pride, named for the great goddess of witches thanks to her likeness to the woman's very avatar. Indeed, Hecate had, to a degree, adopted the position as embodiment of the Witch Goddess. After exchanging her introduction, she gently beckoned her companion forward. He was hesitant, but where his eyes had been nervously withdrawn moments previous they were now bright and curious. Hecate had been teaching him not only her ways as a witch, but also how to release the standards he'd placed upon himself. Aged too early, he had...Jarrulo was finally taking a step back to relearn how to live. In fact, not only to live but to live under the free laws which governed Hecate's life. "I'm Jarrulokaetame, but Miss Hecate just calls me Jarrulo... You can as well if you'd like." The canine blushed a little as Hecate piped up softly 'easier on the tongue, I say' but did not intervene further until he'd finished the last of his introduction. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Lady Dayobi."With introductions aside, Hecate took the lead in the conversation once more and leaned her light weight upon that odd staff of hers. "What, may I be so bold as to ask, brought you out to such a lonely place on such a fine but sleepy morning?"Her words were full of sweet fascination, curiously wanting to know more about the patchwork with whom she was now keeping company with. Dayobi seemed a fine sort, and the little Dyonisus daughter reminded her of home so very much. Jarrulokaetame: 2 / 15

Dayobi warmly shook the witch's hand in her paw, as Hecate pulled her hand back she turned to the other Euclides.
"Hecate, and Jarrulo, how marvelous to meet you." She exclaimed with a smile, making another small neat bow. "It is a marvel to be met with such pleasantries this morning, I was simply out in search of some company, since most of my Cast and Court have busied themselves elsewhere."
She gazed around at the pleasant surroundings, and at her rather attractive company...she wondered where they cam from.
"So where do you two hail from?" She inquired, tilting her head to the side in curiosity and keeping up the cheerful attitude. "I've just been meandering about the Park, what is you have set out to do? Perhaps we might continue on together for a while?"
Dayobi smiled, wondering if they would be interested in her Court... if they were she would have to inform them of the dinner party she would be throwing in a few nights time. Smiling, watched their faces, already liking their features. They would fit in quite well.

Ah! The masquerade's question caused Hecate to downright beam, such a prideful happiness filling her at the thought of her beloved home. It had only been a short while since she'd left, but oh she was so very homesick! "I hail from glorious Greece, Thrace to be exact..." The lovely magician leaned against her staff slightly, her glowing eyes shining with a look of mixed happiness and faint longing. O! to be back in her temple with her family, the apple of their eye, the very Icon of the goddess of sorcery, Hecate! "I've only just parted from my home, I must admit, so you'll have to pardon me a little if my English is rusty."Jarrulo smiled up at his mentor, knowing how she loved to speak of Greece. If Dayobi gave her the chance, the female would go on for hours. "Nowhere out of the way for me, I fear." He chuckled a little, slowly relaxing with conversation and Hecate's jovial company. "I was born here in England."As Dayobi offered to keep them company, Hecate only grinned all the wider. Yes, company would be nice. Especially if it was this fine Masquerade's company. "We were just gathering some final ingredients for one of my potions, you're more than welcome to keep us company on the way back to my home." Although Hecate seemed happy enough to take Dayobi back to her home, Jarrulo seemed a little uncertain. It wasn't that he didn't want the patchwork to stay around it was only that, well, Hecate's home wasn't exactly what one would expect. Sighing a little, he merely shook his head and smiled as Hecate beckoned her company to follow and cheerfully returned to their conversation. "What about you, m'lady Dayobi, where do you hail from?"Jarrulokaetame: 3 / 15

Dayobi couldn't help but brighten due to the Magician's chipper attitude. She watched the enthusiastic gestures and speech patterns with slight amusement...what an interesting pair these two were.
She laughed and waved a paw. "Fear not, dear Hecate, your English is perfectly within my grasp. Even though you hail from Greece? How marvelous, I have never ventured so far in my life, how incredible it must be."
The Masquerade took note of the other Canine's slight deterring movements while Hecate spoke; it was somewhat off-putting...as though he was trying to quell her thoughts of her home... Too bad, my dear sir... She thought. I am far too interested to just let this go, now...
"Ah, yes Jarrulo, I was born here as well. My parents never really were ones for moving about. Especially my father, he never went too far from my mother's side." Dayobi neglected to mention the details in this story. The fact that her father was unable to leave her mother's side was; in this conversation, irrelevant. Though it still made her shiver some nights to remember...
"Potions, how exquisite, Hecate. I would love to accompany you home for a short while; I have never seen potions brewed before...unless you count wine, would you object to my observation in your domicile?" She tilted her head to the side. "I shall have to gift you with some of my wine sometime, I do so dearly love to hear what people think of it. I have many different flavors...perhaps a tasting?" She mused.
She watched Jarrulo out of the corner of her blank eyes for a reaction, smiling happily...though the smile didn't reach her cold eyes. The mask was good for taking care of this problem in most company though.
"As for myself, I live in Onyx Park, near the stream. My home is normally somewhat hard to locate, but I dare say that I would love for you two to visit me sometime."

Jarrulo had a stiff upbringing, and it showed in his actions even when he was most at leisure. It was a sad truth, but a truth nonetheless. On more than one occasion, the foreign Magician had gotten herself into a mess of trouble in her brazen oddities but Dayobi most obviously was not offended. No, intrigued was definitely more like it. That alone caught Jarrulo's curiosity. She seemed like such an upstanding lady, yet she still managed to enjoy the company of the eccentric witch...perhaps there was a bit of hope for him after all. Hecate had always said so but it was so very hard to erase the rigid standards he'd held for himself for such a long time. The wandering witch-queen of Thrace grinned, the joy shining in those gleaming golden eyes. The masquerade, of course, had a darker side but that was best left for equally dark nights and not such jovial mornings. "Aye, I do. A most wonderful place, I must say...but there was a small tragedy with some distressing Amuni types. Calling my family and I heathens for our worship to Goddess Hekate!" The marionette huffed a little, offering an absently sultry little pout. "So I am taking a bit of leave while the drudges do the rebuilding, the experience has been exciting so far."Lord she could talk up a storm, but in mood's like these she was always the life of the party; as was the style of both Marionettes and Magicians. "But enough of such things. I would greatly love to show you my home, however humble it might be, and to brew some potions for your pleasure as well." As the Magician spoke she now began to walk and as she walked she urged the little canine along as well. "You do your own wine making? O! what a pleasure to hear! You really are a daughter of Dionysus; I knew it from the moment I saw your masquerade, all decked out in lovely grapes! Ah yes, you do know of him, don't you? Some Englishmen are sorely undereducated in the ways of my culture" The magician sighed a little, thinking of the reactions she'd been met within response to her beliefs. To think, some humans could be as obnoxious as the dratted Amuni! "A wine tasting would be wonderful, though. We Grecians love wine."As Hecate went on talking and socializing, Jarrulo listened and studied the two females; Dayobi in particular. He was accustomed to his lady Hecate, but Dayobi was new to him and something in her masked features caught him as odd. Being a rather observant youth, he noticed time and again when her good humor and warm smiles did not transfer from mouth to eyes. In fact, there was something strange in the depths of her eyes, but Jarrulo could not quite place it. Jarrulokaetame: 4 / 15

Dayobi nodded, expression somewhat grave when Hecate mentioned the Amuni. "Ah yes, the troublesome Churchgoers... It's a shame to know that you've had a spot of bother with them as well." She shook her head slightly so that the bells on her mask rang softly. "The Amuni are no friends of ours...though they have done nothing as of yet to make us seek them out as they do to us. Their ways are stranger than I can comprehend, their feelings are alien...sometimes I can only deduce that they don't really feel." The Masquerade kept watch out of the corner of her eye on little Jarrulo. His expression seemed amicable enough, but sometimes his features would acquire an odd, intense look, as though he was concentrating hard on the two of them. She wasn't worried about him yet, but she knew to keep a good watch out for any who might become fast enemies instead of friends. She knew how dangerous children could be...look at what she had done... She returned her attention to Hecate. "It would be wonderful if the two of you could join me in a bit of wine tasting. Please stop by my home in three weeks, I would very much enjoy your presence at my little party." She smiled again, her steps light and airy as she followed the Magician. Anticipation building in her as she wondered what type of home this creature had...these things always interested her. She needed to know...everything. "I am very interested in your potion making skills, dear Hecate. As a goddess, your qualities must be fantastic. I am quite glad to learn more about you, and if he is willing to let me know about him, Jarrulo as well." She smiled over her shoulder at the young Canine. "What is it you specialize in, Jarrulo? What is it that you like to do in this world?" Her blank eyes bored into him, as though she was attempting to read into his soul. She smiled again...though her eyes did not. ((OOC: COnsider this the official invitation for these two to Dayobi's huge dinner party. They can just jump on into the other thread at any time.))
