Janourgos lay coiled in the dry, dead grass, his nicitating membrane forming a semi-opaque, milky white layer over his slitted eyes as he lazed about in the sunlight. He could hear ravens cawing in the distance, but except for that, there was hardly a sound. It was bliss to be able to relax like this...recruitment really took it out of him, even if the newly recruited's membership ended promptly in some dark alley. Or, to be picky about the details, somewhere in Janourgos' esophagus -- generally, whatever bit they were in when the bones of their crushed ribcage finally pierced something vital. At the moment, he was digesting, half-asleep in the afternoon warmth.

While the other might have been enjoying the sunny favorible weather, in a stereotyically evil manner, the serpent not far away from the current location of the hell was trying to find the darkness of shade in which to mumble his critic of the happy weather. However, it was so bright and warm, so unlike the normal weather for england, that even under the trees the shade wasn't that dark. Not ideal for hiding a blood red body.
He lifted his head from it's slithering on the ground to have a better look around the area. Yup still no real form of shade. He cursed before lifting his head even higher to see the canopy of the trees. Maybe if he actually went into the trees he could find better shade? And up he went into the nearest tree, tangling himself lazily in the branches and letting his body finally relax. It was only then that he noted the Hell. In his need for darkness and shade he hadn't payed attention to anyone that might have been around. He cursed at himself again, rather unhappy that he wasn't able to spot the other before.
He didn't say anything, not feeling a need to, especially if he had not been spotted by the hell yet. He prepared himself though, mentally for whatever this Hell might throw at him when he DID finally see him. After all, it wouldn't be hard to see a big red snake in a tree on a perfectly lit day.

No, it wasn't. And that was exactly what Janourgos did.
He had been facing the other direction when the sun came out from behind a whispy cloud, shining directly into his eyes. He closed them, but the light was still there, shining redly through his clenched lids. He groaned, cursed, and picked up his head, sliding it over his coils until it faced away from the piercingly bright rays. His surroundings shifted around him: grass, rock, red scales, sky, grass, tree, serpent, rock...wait a second. Janourgos reared his upper half, eyes narrowed. Serpent? What was another Amuni doing here, disturbing his peace?
Ah, well. He would have to take care of that before he could get some proper rest. Hissing, he lowered his body back to the ground and set off slithering towards the unknown serpent.
