Pant, pant, pant.Bisae limped through the graveyard, favoring one of her rear legs, breathing heavily. Every so often she would pause to look around, then start off in another direction, each time with a purposeful gait. She walked around objects without even seeing them, it seemed, as if she were focusing on something that was not really there. She was alone, but her lips were moving slightly, as if she were whispering to herself. If anyone would have been there, they might have been able to make out her words... "Yae...you promised...promised...that we would always be together! Why...why..." Whoever Yae was, that must be who Bisae was hurrying to find. Suddenly, she rounded a dead, withered tree, and stopped dead in her tracks. Her eyes widened, then calmed, and she stood, transfixed, as she stared at the empty air. Anyone who could get close enough to touch her might be able to see what she was seeing...it worked for her sister, at least.

Unusually cheerful considering both his species and lineage, the young golden-winged chiroptae peered curiously down from his inverted perch. Taloned toes clutch to one of the dead branches that twine far above, colorless eyes focused upon the vibrant amuni. "You've got wings!" he comments in a naive fashion, flaring his own for the sake of example. "I've never seen a cat with wings..."

Bisae looked up at the sound, but seemed to look right past the dangling youngster. She turned back to the spot she had previously been examining, then started walking forwards again, limping on her rear leg. Her pace was slow, but constant; once again, she seemed to be searching for something. The muttering had stopped, however, to be replaced by an eerie silence. Her eyes were calm, with a slightly lost look to them; almost as if she knew what she was supposed to do, but not exactly where to go in order to do it. It was evident that she had never been to this area before; she acted as though her footing was insecure, instead of proceeding in the more confident fashion of a returning pedestrian. Despite this fact, she moved as if travelling a specific route -- walking along a straight path until something blocked her way, then casting around until she spotted some invisible presence and starting off towards it again.

"He... hey!"Awkwardly the youngling flares his wings, letting loose his perch to drop and catching air within his spread golden sails. "Come back! Hey, what's wrong with your foot?"His tone shifts from curiosity to concern, not exactly usual for a euclides. Frantically flapping, he hurries after the odd feline. Quite the comical little flurry of wings, he'll try to swoop afront her before speaking next, as he dislikes being ignored. "Are you okay?"Yes... he's annoying. But at least he's sweet-tempered!

Bisae continued ignoring him. It was as if he wasn't even there...that is, until he swooped down in front of her, calling. She looked up, then, staring directly into his eyes. "She promised..." Her voice was unexpectedly mature, and had an almost malevolent, angry quality to it. The tone was whispery and cracked, and had a strange, echoey impression. Almost as if two voices were speaking at the same time, one low and undeniably evil, insane, or both; the other a bit more normal and slightly higher-pitched. "Why?" She said, pleadingly -- then her paw reached out and curled tightly around one of the youngster's dangling rear legs.
Suddenly, they were no longer standing alone in the graveyard. All around them were bloody, slashed-up bodies, all Amuni. And dead ahead, standing among all the carnage, stood a lone, pale white femme, a strikingly red sash her only adornment. Indeed, all color except for that red seemed bleached from the world -- Bisae's own accessory stood out like a sore thumb, a perfect match to that of the other female. As they watched, the pure-white femme started to laugh, insanely high-pitched, her head thrown back to face the grey sky. She laughed, and laughed, and laughed...
Suddenly, there was a moan, and the nearest Amuni reached for them, his hand cut and bloody. They weren't dead...the mutilated corpses surrounding the insane femme were still alive.

A faint squeek of protest is made as the feline grasps tightly his right hind leg, the sheer weight of the limb bogging down the little puppeteer. Regardless of somewhat frantic uncoordinated flapping, the little chiroptae begins to sink towards the ground.
At the unnatural change of surroundings, the child releases a far higher-pitched 'Screeee!', the vibrant wet crimson that shone all about them reflecting and all but glowing in the youngling's eyes. The sound ripped from his tiny lungs was at a painful key, resounding about the tombstones that were there in reality even had they fled from his sight. The wave of sonic vibration could even be considered painful, something like a roused alarm. On the upside, it might wake the amuni from her waking dream. On the downside, it could very well attract euclide of a more predatory nature.
Speaking of predatory... Bisae has somewhat mistakenly exposed the impressional young vampire/rhapsody to a veritable slaughter. Golden-sailed wings flounder somewhat for several moments, before the dowstrokes become surer and steadier.
"So much blood...."
He murmers it, body all but quavering with excitement. By time that sprawled near-dead hand strains towards the pair, the frantic child lunges for it, hissing in poorly-restrained hunger.

][ Oh, crap. xD ][
However, as the youngster made his lunge, he broke contact with Bisae, her paw releasing its grip as she let out a gasp. Immediately, the corpses, blood, and mysterious femme disappeared into thin air. Or maybe not thin air...the insane laughter still sounded, a fading echo in the night, until it was no longer audible even to the chiroptae's sensitive ears.
Abruptly, a change came over Bisae. Her eyes seemed to clear, then confusion masked her elegant face. The mature, almost cock-sure pose deserted her, and she became more like a frightened young femme that the insanely laughing Amuni from the vision. Her breathing came in short, quick gasps, as if she had just undergone a powerful exertion.
Suddenly, she spotted the youngling, hissing and lunging at the empty ground. A short, involuntary scream escaped her lungs.

The predatory lunge offered the child no yield. Earth... grit.... this was not what he had scented! That coppery tang had been thick in the air! And where had it gone? Where was the blood... the screaming victims? They had called to him... begged him to release them with young but already prominant eyeteeth.
Scrabbling, the child might be fearsome were a being afraid of a creature perhaps a fourth their own size at best. He certainly looked less his cheerful self, the rousing bloodlust causing his fur agressively to bristle and muzzle to wrinkle in a snarl. Massive ears were no longer inquisitively canted forward. Rather, they swivelled consistantly about like twin radars in searching, the gasped scream catching both and prompting the youngling to whirl towards the sweet young promise-type.
"Where's the blood....?" he childishly demands in a sharp tone, taking up a downright predatory stalk. Hind legs were bent into something of a crouch, winged limbs bent forward to serve as forelegs. The fact that he was still talking at all was certainly positive...

Bisae simply stared at him, terror and confusion echoing in here eyes. "You...but you're..." She scrabbled backwards, away from the bloodlusting youth. Panic flashed fleetingly in her eyes. She was physically extremely weak; she might not have the strength to defend herself if the youngling attacked. She stood there, in a crisis of indecision.
Suddenly: a burst of static. The world went briefly colorless again, and the image of the crippled Promise was overlayed with the vague outline of a pale, laughing femme, her crimson sash trailing on the dry, withered graveyard soil -- but the apparition faded out as soon and as suddenly as it had appeared. Bisae was revealed once more, seemingly unaware of this momentary lapse in reality, her eyes still fixed on the young chiroptae.

He was no silly little blood, but a young vampire-type could hardly be expected to know how to control his frenzy. Snarling still he'd slowly advance, prominant fangs bared and radar-like ears pressed tighly back.
"I... want..." he began, skulking very slowly towards the only creature he saw. Her panicked pants and the faint scent of a fear-induced sweat only goading him further into his frantically hungry state. And then... that sudden shock... it did more than silence him. Startled into action, the little creature pounced.
Golden-sailed wings snapped out to either side to startle his wary prey, the peripheral action meant to discourage her from darting to either side. It would seem as though the only way to escape was to go backwards... but even then he was already airborne. If he was fast enough, he'd have himself a meal. If he made it to the terrified feline he'd reflexively wrap his wing-arms tightly about her neck in a cling. Little talons settling to pin-prick a grip at the base of either foreleg, he should end up huddled with his maw right at her throat.
Oh dear...
At least he was still young... still small. Even were he to successfully land his attack, he'd only siphon so much of the amuni's life-giving blood. He can't drink but so much, after all!
(sorry, crap post... but I needed to post something. And rest assured, Kaedaj won't kill her. If you let him get ahold of her the worst he'll do is drink some blood and then come back to his senses.)

Sae -- no, Bisae -- screamed as the chiroptae lunged at her throat. She stumbled backwards, landing on her back in the dusty soil. He was still small, but the sight of him, wings outstretched, fangs bared, consumed Bisae in fright. You'd think she'd be used to it, due to her frequent "meetings" with Sae, but it seemed that this was different. Sae never hurt her...only her friends. Maybe that was because Sae was hurting, herself. Hurting so deeply that it had driven her to insanity.
Sae would tell her about the Ritual, when they were alone. Bisae never really remembered being told...but she would look at Sae, and Sae would look at her, and she would feel the other femme's pain like it was her own. Then she would know. Know what had happened to that place...her and Biyae had been born for that purpose. There was no other way. But Biyae thought that there was...that was why she resisted so strongly.
And now, as the young vampire lunged at her exposed throat, her scream was slowly overlapped by that of another. A femme, with a voice that was deep and mature, but filled with remorse. Screaming along with her...
Suddenly, time seemed to slow, almost stop...then, as if passing an invisible barrier or breaking through a temporal elastic band, it returned to normal once again. But this time, the colors were gone again...Bisae was suddenly replaced by a pure white femme, her crimson sash dulled and her front specked with dried blood. None other than Sae, herself. Her head was bowed, the eyes in shadow, but as the Euclide approached, her glistening orbs came up to meet his own. "You...will die...the Repentence..." She voiced in a low, halting, raspy half-whisper. Then, with a screech, she lunged, her paws outstretched to catch and strangle the life out of the youth.
