It was the dead of night and not a soul was stirring, or at least he'd come to hope so. He'd begun the night trotting through the grass, feline like tail held high, spirits high as well, but all that was changing. Kaerjius and Palabizikorna had filled his head with the myriad of dangers that lurked outside the walls of the church, especially for an Amuni of his present stature and those visions and ideas were playing with his mind at present. It also didn't help that his father was the most prominent face in the persecution of the demons either, any of which would probably jump at the chance to slay his heir. So why had he come out here again? Oh yeah, he wanted to see what it was like not to be watched every second, that's right. But it felt as if there were eyes on him now and his little heart beat began to speed up, but he tried very hard to force back his fear for he'd been told it sent of a pungent oder that anyone will ill intents could easily pick up on. I am not afraid... he managed to mutter under his breath, trying to convince himself more then anything else. I am not afraid... That time it came out a little louder and with more conviction. Until of course he heard a rustling in some brush near him and he froze for a moment. For the love of Amunuku don't let them eat me... And with this though he whirled to face the enemy, sucking in air and puffing his chest out trying his best to look like a big, bad Amuni that he might be one day, if he made it that long. It might be a demon there behind him, but he'd put on a brave face to it....

Elisibeta 1/15 Elisibeta trotted along behind her brother, having followed his path out of the cathedral and through the dark, seemingly deserted streets of London. A thrill of excitement ran along her spine, raising her hackles in nervous pleasure at sneaking out. She’d never so much as left the confines of her home without one or both of her parents accompanying her, their well-founded paranoia seeming needlessly restrictive to her curious young mind. She knew that awful, evil things lived outside, but none of them would ever get her. Sure there were demons roaming the streets, hiding in dark alleyways and on rooftops, waiting to spring out and attack foolish young Amuni who went out alone. Now she wasn’t alone, though – she was with her older brother! Even if he didn’t know it yet. Besides, if any Euclide appeared, she would turn tail and outrun them. She was fast! Her father said so when they ran around the yard together. Abandoning her trot for a more subtle quiet walk, Eli wondered how easy it would be to sneak up on her brother. She did it often enough at home to Timo, but her other brother knew better than to fall for it. Still, this wasn’t home, and maybe... When he whirled around to face her, wide gray eyes stared into Jukaestus’s, a large lock of red and gold falling down over her muzzle and obscuring part of her canine face. She immediately abandoned her stalking crouch to spring at him, knocking into his big bubble-butt and trying to push him to the ground. ”Finally got you!” she cried exultantly, the sound carrying much too far for comfort in the still of the night. She didn’t seem to notice or care. ((Thanks for letting me jump in, guys. ^_^))

It seemed the two siblings were not the only ones sneaking out on this night. Vardabi padded along, wandering around and just taking in the surroundings. It was quiet out, which gave her a false sence of being alone. She should have been alot more scared then she was, as her parents had filled her head with equally frightening images, and were just as strict about keeping her in their sights. Her parents, however, were very much asleep, and she wanted to know what it was like to be alone for five seconds. The silence was broken by the shrill voice of another being and it caused Vardabi to jump and stretch out her multiple wings. Wide eyes searched for where the sound came from in the silence. She could hardly move, and it fustrated her. Only seconds ago she was confident and unafraid, but the voice had reminded her that the night was not hers, and that it belonged to all creatures. She just hoped that these creatures were actually nice. She wondered weather to approach, afraid of finding Euclide. Her parents wouldn't be around to hear her scream, they were far away. She was on her own. However, despite better judgement, she found her curiousity taking over, and she wiggled herself along the ground, like a soldier crawling along the ground trying to avoid being seen. Her end point had been a bush, which she had accidently made noise with. She cursed her clumsiness. She found before her two other Amuni. She exhaled quietly, relieved that the noise had been equally young other Amuni. Now she wondered if she should step out and say hello. Truth be told, Vardabi was a rather shy female, probably thanks to the fact that she was always around her parents, and under socialized. Vardabi: 1 / 15

His eyes focused on what ad frightened him and he let out his breathe all at once not being able to hide the fact that he was mildly disappointed. Yes, it wasn't a demon but it was his sister, a positive and a negative all in one. A rather bored expression crossed his face and he was about to speak when she jumped, his present frame of mind making him an easier target and he fell over with a thud and an oof. Curse her, she was making him look like a fool! He did have an appearance to keep up, being a young Pope and all.
Canine ears flickered back and he snapped his jaws at her, gently in case she didn't move away in time, he also kicked at her with his hind legs, which were much stronger then the front, and, when he'd managed to shake her form from his, got up and shook the dust from his coat. His attention turned to her again, and he was about to scold her until ... well... he heard another rustling in the brush and turned to face this new enemy. He took a few steps toward it, fluffing again and letting out a little growl, which sounded odd to his ears really. He wasn't going to let whatever it was eat his sister...

Gleeful at finally pouncing her big brother, Eli let out a surprised, giggling yip as he nipped at her shoulder and rolled away, helped along by a hind-kick that just barely caught her stomach. The soreness would fade, but the satisfied glow at her successful 'hunt' would probably last for quite a while. She would tell their father about it and he would chuckle like he always did when they played at hunting- Except she wasn't supposed to be out here alone, especially not at night. Her big ears drooped a little at the thought and she took his scolding glare in good grace, prepared to be chewed out thoroughly for "disgracing" him again - though this time they weren't around other people, so maybe it wouldn't be so bad. Distracted, she didn't notice the sound that set Jukaestus back on the defensive and looked at him in puzzlement as he poofed back up, able to look more impressive than she ever could. Her mother said it was the silly snip of a mane, but that was okay. She'd rather have her pretty mane and look silly over having his bubble-butt and looking intimidating any day. Maybe someday he'd find a girl whose first instinct wouldn't be to tease him about it, but while his little sister was around, that day looked far off. "What is it, Juk?" she asked plaintively, voice still far too loud for the quiet of the night. She wasn't used to modulating it for the outdoors, since being outside usually meant they were allowed to roughhouse and play loud. Elisibeta 6/15

Vardabi recoiled in the face of agression, assuming a very submissive pose on the ground and backing up as the male came forward. Her wings fluttered nervously at her sides. She knew she probably didn't have much to worry about from these younglings, as they were Amuni just like her, but the fact that the male showed aggression made her extremely nervous. "Please don't hurt me." she said in a very soft and scared voice, drastically different from the other female in the area, who had spoken so loudly to him. She decided that maybe hiding, even though every fiber of her body wanted to continue to do so, was probably not the best thing to do in this situation. The male obviously didn't see her, and maybe possibly he would calm down if he saw a glimpse of who it might be? She would have to risk it. She stuck her head out shyly, and with a small toothy grin playing on her face. "I mean you both no harm..."Vardabi: 2 / 15

He was only so defensive because he believed his life to be in danger and, with his sisters appearance, he now feared for her life as well. He was the largest of his siblings, and the highest in rank and he believed himself to be more responsible for them then they probably realized. Inside the the tri-colored male was sitting somewhere on the verge of tears, cursed demons. However his aggressive facade faltered a bit at the scared little voice that resonated from the hiding place of the invader. Certainly demons couldn't sound like that?
No, it had to be a trick! He got his composure back and inched toward where this surely vicious beast was hiding only to almost come nose to nose with another Amuni child. his eyes widened and he felt almost like laughing... in fact that's exactly what he did. His nerves cracked, he stopped growling and he just back up a bit and started to chuckle, something he didn't do often. He did, however, manage to spit out an apology between laughs. Sorry... I thought... you were a... demon.

Eli cocked her head to the side and watched her brother relax, both ears perked and pointed in the direction of that unexpected, meek little voice from the bushes. Who was hiding in there? Who didn't want to be hurt? Why did he or she think they would hurt anyone? His brother tensed up again, confusing her, then she saw the pale blue head pop out of hiding and blinked in surprise as Jukaestus collapsed into laughter. Another Amuni! "...wha?" she queried, completely lost. "Her? A demon?" She squinted and looked more closely at the sheepishly grinning face in front of them. "I don't think so, Juk. Did you eat something funny for dinner?"Thoroughly out of the loop, she shrugged and put it from her mind, instead focusing on a new potential playmate. She'd never met an Amuni youngling outside of her father's Church before. She'd played with humans in the park, but that was okay because they were sworn to protect humans and her father had always been there. This was something completely new. "No hurting," she agreed. "Hurting's bad. 'sides, I don't think we're big enough to hurt much of anything yet. I'm Eli. This is Juk. Who're you?" Straightforward and friendly, the rainbow-maned pup projected a guileless air. "Sorry to worry you..." she said timidly when he had mentioned thinking she was a demon. She had not ment to frighten anyone. Indeed, she had been just as frightened, being just as new to the outside world as they were...well...alone, at night, and away from the parentals, that was. Truth be told, Vardabi wasn't quite sure if she had ever met other Amuni younglings. Her mother said that Amuni offspring were much rarer then Euclide offspring by far, mostly because of the Euclide's sinful practices. She looked at the two and bowed a bit, sticking to the bush still, as if it were a bouy in the ocean of the world she was in right now. "My name is Vardabi...It is nice to meet you both..." she wasn't quite sure how to continue from there. She had never really 'hung out' with any other amuni, and overall was timid and under socialized. She knew niceities because her mother taught her them, but other then that, she was proving to be a horrible conversationalist. Vardabi: 3 / 15

He straightened himself back up and took his usual confident, careless stance, he wasn't much of a Pope yet, but he'd get there some day. For now he'd just put on the act that he was cool, calm, serene and knowledable... it seemed to work at home, or at least with his siblings most of the time.
He turned his head to Eli and shook his head. "You know what I had for dinner... you had the same thing." It was certainly the logical veiw... they lived in the same church and all. However his attention didn't stick to his sister for long, it returned to the femme before them.
Aren't you going to come out of the brush? We're really not that bad... my apologies for laughing at you, I didn't mean it, really."

The young canine tilted her head and let the new name settle in her mind. "Vardabi," she muttered, rolling it on her tongue as if tasting it. "Vardaaaabi. Vaaaardabi. Vardabyeh. Var-dabi. Vardabi. I like it. 's a little long to just shout, though. I mean, three separate sounds. Not as bad as Elisibeta's five, but Jukaestus had three and he's Juk now. So you're, um, Dabi. I guess. Unless you want to be something else." She beamed, pleased to have formed a new nickname, however obvious it seemed.
Too many people insisted on going around by their full names, or so it seemed to her. On a hunt, you had to be able to bark something out short and fast. Kaerjius had told her that and she took it quite seriously, shortening the name of just about everyone in their Church, much to their evident amusement. Except for Cardinal Ilja, but his name was so short and pretty anyway that it just didn't need shortening. Her thoughts distracted her for a moment while her brother apologized and tried to coax their new acquaintance out of her bush.

Vardabi slowly slinked out of the bushes she had been hiding in, her multiple wings clinging to her sides as if they were afraid to be extended. The duo seemed nice enough, and evidently where siblings, but as said before, Vardabi wasn't the social type. She had been the only Amuni baby around her area for quite some time, and meeting some new friends was quite a bit of a change for her. She smiled at them both, but her body was still slightly stiff. She tried her best not to be to foolish. She watched as the maned female rolled her name around her mouth like some sort of hard candy that couldn't be bitten until it was a much smaller size. This made her relax a little she had to admit, rather interested with what the female was trying to accomplish. "You can call me what you would like. My mother and father have always called me Vardabi. Though I suppose in dire situations it's good to have a nickname you can just shout out. And what with this city nearly overrun with Euclides...I suppose its a precaution thats best left now to decide rather then later." She spoke like a much older Amuni, there was a chance she possibly was the older of the 3, but even so...she was still young. Probably to much talking with her parents...and not enough playtime with younger Amuni. Vardabi: 4 / 15

Juk watched their new friend with some interest, large ears forward and twitching slightly with intrigue. He just loved all the bright colors that her coat held, far more beautiful then any he'd seen in his own church, and wings? Amazing, he couldn't recall, at this particular moment, seeing another Amuni with wings, well beyond the Chiroptae that it.
He also noted that while her appearance was strange, it was a graceful sort of strange that contrasted his own just all over awkward type of strange. As far as he knew, and had been told, he was the only triple breed patchwork and, although it made him special, it looked at bit.. .strange... Giant ears, a lithe, elegant front half, an odd looking little feline tail and that larger, well muscled ursae hind end, he was almost ashamed of his appearance, almost. Amunuku must have some sort of plan that involves him being so, so he would accept it.
However, to ensure that her level of nervousness did not increase, he snapped out of his silent musings and tilted his head ever so slightly to one side as a question escaped from his maw. Your scent and those that cling to you are not familiar, are you from around this area?

Eli's ears perked forward as the other youngling emerged from the brush, her tail wagging enthusiastically. She hadn't yet perfected control over the traitorous limb. It let her emotions show more clearly than any other part of her body and gave others a good idea what mood they were dealing with. Between the large ears and fluffy tail, her pleased surprise was obvious.
"Wow, you're pretty," she blurted out in surprise. "Rainbow and blue makes you look a lot like Sergej. D'you have some Promise in you?" From the pale, pretty paws to the absolutely gorgeous spread of wings and rainbow, their new acquaintance was nothing short of a stunning young girl. She would have felt somewhat scruffy in comparison...except she looked like her father, and that made up for everything. He and Mother were the prettiest couple in the entire world.
She looked at her brother as he asked his question, then raised her nose and took a deep sniff of her own, the action more visible than her brother's discrete testing. Whereas he had taken after their father's more formal speech in preparation for his future duties, she could be more casual in her choice of words, which sometimes meant more blunt and tactless. "Yeah, you do smell kinda funny. I can't place it."
