Early morning. Most were still asleep, enjoying the conforts of a bed and blanket. Not Aseja. The bat like creature trudged through the thick mists that blanketed the Graveyard. Barely keeping himself on two clawed legs, he wearily staggered aimlessly around. On his crimson pelt it was not very obvious from a distance but he was hurt. Badly. Tonights euclides hunt had not turned out so well. Why did he attack that Director? It was obvious the canine was way to powerful then the little Follower. Shame. The constant feeling he did something wrong drove him to such extreme heights. Killing demons was the only thing that made him make up for his 'sins'. Misty green eyes dejectedly searched his right leg. The Canines claws tore through skin and muscle leaving a huge gash. It almost went from side to side, it was positively huge. It was a wonder he kept going. Even through the fog he could see the trail of blood he left. He lost alot of blood, the poor Chiroptae thought dizzily. Suddenly his leg gave way and he fell, but caught himelf on a tomstone and used it as a leaning stick. Slowly his head tilted upwords and something white could be seen through the fog. "Are you my guardian Angel?" he said dilearously.

The sun had barely crept past the horizon, its brilliant rays seeming faint as they passed through the swirling morning mist that cloaked the area. Sibeal sighed in frustration, ears held back as she surveyed the abandoned graveyard in vain for any wayward Euclide that were unfortunate enough to cross her path. Beside her, Sergej did the same, his own stance equally annoyed. They had been hunting for the better part of the night and morning but were unable to find any of the demons creeping around the city. Ever since joining a Church, the pair of them had become common hunting buddies, going out to prowl the streets every night that they were able. Hunting in groups was so much safer than their previous solo hunts and it gave them someone to talk to during the long, sometimes fruitless hours of searching. Two sets of eyes were better than one, as were two sets of ears and noses. More than one Euclides had been caught that would have been too much for only one of them to handle. “I guess we’d better head back,” the blue male said with a sigh, turning around and beginning to leave. Sibeal nodded with a grimace, giving the area one last glance before doing the same... ...but what was that pile of red moving through the graves? Her eyes focused on the shape as it seemed to slump against one of the tombstones and she gave a hiss of warning to her companion, who immediately turned to look at her and then the creature beyond. He raised his nose and sniffed, eyes narrowing. “It was too faint to catch before, but I smell blood, and it’s coming from over there.” The words were growled softly, both of them raising their hackles as they held themselves lower to the ground and started approaching slowly. The white feline reached it first, noticing the cross necklace draped around its neck and recognizing it as an Amuni soon after. The scent of blood filled her nose and she wrinkled it in distaste, standing to approach more openly. At his question she froze, no more than a foot or two away and looking down on his pitifully sprawled form. “You need help,” she muttered worriedly, assessing his wounds. “Brother, can you stand?”Sergej walked up behind her and drew in a surprised breath at the state of the chiroptae. “By the grace of God...” he muttered.

Even in the faint light the Chiroptae's eyes couldn't stand it. Everything was already blurred, and the empty darkness he was used to was all gone. Part of him wished God was take him now, but his work was not done with. No, he had more to give. And his soul wasn't pure enough yet. So he thought.
His large furless ears swivled at the sound of not one, but two foot steps. If they were euclides he would surely be done for. He wasn't even strong enough to make a squeal for help.
Slowly he tilted his head up at the soft words. Maybe it wasn't Euclides? Or maybe they were just messing with him, oh how they love to dismember mind and body.
"I... he said hoarsely, choking through the tears that were being held back. "Need... help..." With that his head fell to his chest, and heavy breathing ensued.

The pair of hunters watched the chiroptae slowly collapse in on himself, body slumping and head falling onto his chest. With a pained, worried noise in the back of her throat, Sibeal stepped right next to him and shifted to her bipedal form. She hesitantly reached out one hand-paw and barely brushed her fingers over a wound, then quickly withdrew her hand and turned to her companion. "Do you think you can carry him on your back?" she asked bluntly, no doubt in her mind that they were taking him back with them and now.
Sergej nodded his head and, with careful maneuvering, they managed to hoist his unconscious red form onto the canine's back. His wings draped down over rainbow-feathered markings and his blood seeped steadily into blue fur, staining it a crimson darker than any other naturally found on his fur. The pair slowly began to walk, Sergej carefully balancing the unknown Amuni's weight and Sibeal walking beside him on two legs, ready to correct the chiroptae's balance or catch him should he fall.
They were making their way to the doors of their Church. Should nothing impede their progress, they would arrive in perhaps twenty minutes, as fast as they were able without unduly jostling their burden and causing him further injury.

Aseja flinched when the feline's soft fingers felt his wound. It felt so long since he had phsical interations.
The chiroptae could feel is body be lifted off the ground but he did not move or open his eyes. One might've thought he was dead, the young Amuni was limp as a rag. Judging by the speed and intensity of the canines strides they knew where they were going. Only the thought that help was comming kept the cold touch of death off him.
(ooc:Short... but you can't really do much when your characters half dead and being carried to help.)

The large doors of the old cathedral beckoned and Sibeal ran ahead to get help. They wouldn't be able to move him up the stairs easily by themselves - he would slip off of Sergej's back far too easily and carrying him by hand in his broken state could be disastrous. She still didn't know what exactly had attacked him and left him in such a state, or how badly he was injured. The state of his body left her sure it was severe, but others would know better than her. She slipped in the door and called out for help, answered almost immediately by a pair of cervine males who often worked together in the main building. Andrija and Gabryjel stood hurriedly and moved outside at her direction. She took a moment to run and fetch a blanket before going out to join them, the two males' dismay at the sight of the chiroptae almost palpable. Seeing him now in the light that spilled out of the church's door, she couldn't help but grimace herself at all of the blood. How much and where would be difficult to determine in all but the brightest of light due to his coloration. Rejoining the main grouping, she knelt down and spread the blanket at the base of the stairs before she and Gabryjel gently lowered him down onto it, Sergej shifting his weight to slope his back for a smoother transition. Even so, it probably hurt the unknown Amuni. "Easy now," she murmured, picking up one corner of the blanket while the others shifted and took their own. "We've got you. We're going to help. Just stay with us a little longer, okay?" Unwilling to spare any more time, they ascended the stairs and entered the main cathedral, its candles and lanterns burning cheerily. It was a stark contrast to the menacing darkness of the graveyard in which they had found him. ((Hehe, it's okay, I understand completely. XD; Hopefully this'll give you more to bounce off of along with a bunch of points for meeting LC.))

(ooc:ST is very much sorry, shes been very busy wiht her arts and cyberpet and is talking in third person. Please bear with her.)
Footsteps.... What are they.... Who are they.... The chiroptae thought. The bloody, broken body flinched at the sound of hooves clopping on the hard ground of the old Cathedral
Thud. dispite the hurrying traveling on the canines back felt like flying. The fall was a slap of realization, he was very much on the ground and still hurt. He wasn't lifting off to heaven after all, a dissapointing find. He moaned, dispite the groups efforts, in pain.
The red amuni started to shake, violently. Who knew what he could've caught in the chilly night, he was even more vulnerable thanks to the inherite hairlessness from his type.
To the reassuring words of feline, he coughed. It was meant to be a sigh, but it was hard when your troat was polished with blood.
(Maybe, once Aseja is in a good place to rest we should skip ahead a few hours/or a day so he can awaken to his saviors?)

All of the Amuni present wore grim expressions. The sounds coming from their unexpected visitor were far from reassuring, especially the liquid-sounding cough and moans of pain. When they moved into the more brightly lit area of the cathedral, various cuts and gashes could be seen marring his otherwise smooth hide.
Gabryjel inclined his head towards a staircase and they slowly worked their way up the loose spiral until they reached the second level of the building, where most of the private rooms were found. They found one that had not yet been occupied and placed him carefully on the floor, Andrija immediately running off to get some supplies and Gabryjel following. They would need more blankets, pillows, water, cloths for cleaning and bandaging...
The feline watched them go, then turned worried eyes to Sergej. "I know you need to go see Asima," she said quietly. "Could you maybe bring her back with you to help out?" The canine nodded once, quiet in his concern, and was gone.
She turned her eyes back to the chiroptae and tried to arrange his limbs in a less painful configuration. One wing looked badly injured, though perhaps it wouldn't be so serious after they cleaned him up. This she very carefully extended for further study. Only time would tell how he would pull through. Kaerjius would want to know about this after they'd stabilized him.
((This a good place for a time-skip?))

(agreed.) Aseja awaken to a bright morning. Sun shined through the colored glass of a window, blinding him momentarily. The whole night had been a blur, he didn't even know where he was. Slowly he tried to get up, but a serge of pain ran through his body. Oh yeah, now he remembered. Those demons in the park almost killed him, and then left him to die a slow death. He should be dead, was he in heaven? No, he shouldn't feel an pain. Hell? Nope it should be worse then this..... Purgatory? That is a possibility. Dispite the pain he managed sit up and examine his leg and various other injured. His wing was fractured, close to being broken. He would heal but it hold take awhile. creak....... someone was coming! His head swung to the door entrance, a pink canine was making her way to him. "Oh I see you made it through the night." she said surprised, but her vioce was warm and welcoming.

Sergej and Sibeal followed close behind her. The former moved to sit in the corner closest to his pretty mate and watch, his rainbow-hued wings brilliant against his fur in the bright morning light. He didn't want anything untoward to happen, simply because he wasn't familiar with this young male. His pose exuded nothing but calm and a touch of worry, no hostility present at all. He would let the other two handle things.
The latter padded up to the chiroptae's head and took a good look in his eyes. She wanted to see just how conscious he really was at this point. Clear and green, she was struck by their color. Her lips quirked up in an attempt at good humor for his sake. In the shape he was in, any undue stress had to be avoided. "Good morning, sleepyhead. Your guardian angel and her friend are here to check up on you. How are you feeling?"
She'd fervently hoped he would last the night. Only when the false dawn had begun to touch the horizon could her friends urge her from the room. She felt somewhat responsible for his wellbeing after finding him, and especially after his tentative question. Something about it just touched her.

Asimabi looked back at her mate and gave him a warm canine grin. This amuni was probably alone to, just like she and Sergej was. However one moment could change that, and now she had a life partner. It proved you could find good things in a place as depressing as a dark alley.
"I'll get a wet towel, and some clean bandages." She volunteered. She motioned Sergej to help her.
At her kind words a bit of last nights memories came to him. "So your the angel in the mists?" This was the first real look he got of his savior, last night she was only a white blur. Dispite a little trouble talking, he had alot he wanted to ask her. First he would start with the question he'd been wondering since he woke up. "Where am I?" He took a moment to look around the room, it seemed alittle vacant, but it was nicely kept and from what he could tell it was part of soom religious society. What better a place to live!

Sergej thumped his tail once or twice against the floorboards at the look his mate gave him and stood, following her from the room. He still marveled over her presence every time he woke up snuggled against her warm side. Having someone there for him in good times and in bad meant so much more than he ever would have thought. Add to that the warmth and safety of a loving Church and he couldn't ask for a better home.
At the chiroptae's questions, Sibeal smiled and settled next to him. "My name is Sibeal, Follower of Pope Kaerjius. You're in our home now, in an upstairs room. We moved you here to better treat your wounds. The couple you just met were Asimabi and Sergej, a Missionary and Follower of our order. They'll be bringing back a few more things to tend to you, as well as our leader. We told him we would let him know as soon as you showed signs of awakening."
She reached for his outstretched wing and began to carefully remove one bandage, only to stop halfway down when the blood held it to the wound. Water would be needed to loosen it without causing pain. With a sigh, she dropped the cloth and looked once again into those green eyes. "What in God's name did you get into, an entire Cast of demons? You look as though they put you through the ringer..."

Asimabi led her mate to a room downstairs. She grabbed a towel and a few rolls of bandages. "Wet this please." she handed him a towel. She nuzzled his nose and then sped up the stairs stopping halfway to yell back. "Meet me back at his room!" She had many questions to ask the strange Amuni.
Aseja shifted to make room for Sibeal, though he was very stiff. "Nice to meet you Si- Kearjius! he gasped in disbeleif. "Bu-but I'm not worthy, his church is full of top amuni I can't..... What would he say if he say me..... he started to trail off in sensless babbling.
Suddenly he stopped and looked at her. "I can't see him...." he finally said and then started to chuckle. "I tried to fight a director and his devilish friends.... All in a days work for me." he tried to lighten the mood by making a joke.

Sergej spared a moment to lick her cheek before she hurried off, standing in his bipedal form to wet and wring out the towel until it was good and soaked, just shy of dripping all over the floor. For good measure, he drew a small bowl of the water to bring with him and began carefully navigating his way up the stairs on two legs. This always proved a tricky task for him. Still, if Amunuku hadn't meant for them to utilize the convenience of opposable thumbs, he wouldn't have granted them the ability to change their forms so easily.
The feline looked over at him and smiled slightly. "We're not as intimidating as all that," she murmured, though inside she was quite pleased at the reputation their order had begun to cultivate. With a leader as famous and driven as theirs, how could it be otherwise? "Besides, do you really think we would follow him so loyally if he wasn't a just Pope? He should be only a few minutes more."
His comment made her eyes widen, startled despite herself. The joke fell flat as she took in the sight of him, bruised and bandaged, poor wings torn. "A director and more, all by yourself? Why weren't you traveling with someone, another member of your Church perhaps? I know that we implement a system of pairs when we're out on patrol or hunting the demons. If yours doesn't, you should certainly recommend it to your Pope."

His light tender lick beckenend her to indulge more into his company, but her legs were off before her mind could react. The pink fox-like amuni still had to get everything for the strange chiroptae. She hurried down the hall to another closet with a first-aid box. She was familiar with it, for Sergej had come back many times with more than scrapes when he went hunting. She was not one to hunt herself, for she had a fear of the monsters that haunted her past. Instead she was like the church's nurse and tended to the hold warriors as best she could.
-------------
Aseja digested Sibeals words. He had heard many rumors of Pope Kearjius, both good and bad. He wasn't sure what to think of it, but if his members were so nice how bad could he be? He took a moment to look at her and the room, the morning sunlight shun beautifully on her white fur. She truly looked like a creature from the heavens.
At her sudden display of surprise his eyes hit the ground like a scolded child. "I have no church and nobody to hunt with. Its not like I had a choice they were planning something."
The door opened, the silhouette of the missionary was in its frame. She walked over and bent down next to him. She started to test his wing, seeing how much it could bend and where it would cause him pain. He whinced and she quickly apologized. no, no its ok its just my penance. he mumured while she splinted and wrapped it then she turned to look at the wound on his side. It was slightly infected, he had many other small overlooked cuts that had became abscesses. She awaited her mate, she needed clean wet towels to cleanse the wounds.
