Arraiya was a nimble thing, even in her early years, and so this morning she'd easily lost her siblings and parents, and snuck off out towards the river which brushed the edge of forest and prairie. They'd told her not to go inside alone, and so she would not, but that didn't stop her from perching at the edge in the water, and enjoying the shade of the massive trees so nearby. The high noon sun exposed the land out past her for miles, she'd see anyone coming much before they saw her. She didn't know if she'd stay or run more- she'd be in a lot of trouble when she was caught, but where did she have to run to? Her eyes drifted around and eventually as her head tilted back, her vision erupted with rich foresty greens. No really, that was absurd... but possibly necessary... No! No justifying her actions would be done! She would sit and wait and try to plead as pleasantly as she could. A scent from nearby finally wafted towards her attentive senses, but it didn't seem to have come from the direction she'd left everyone in... unless they were trying to sneak up on her. She'd show them! Switching to her human form, with pale, pale skin and the markings of a fox on her skin with what looked like a tatoo, she started creeping along the river, her fiery red hair did nothing to hide her, but her skin without the black and red markings was perfect. She wore golden cloths covering her child form, a short/skirt combination, and a simple tube-like shirt. It was enough that she was hidden, but she could also romp and play without it getting caught. A noise now! She must be close... Dark silver-grey eyes surveyed the land curiously as she came to a crouch, her hands trying to feel movement through the grassy earth. Another sound! She went still and motionless, waiting for a chance to choose the direction from which it came...

Zitkalasa had slipped away from her family as the sun had risen over the trees. The only one who knew where she had gone was her brother, Gudahaei. He was the only one who understood what she had to do. That she had to become stronger, better than what she was. He was also the only one who would probably be able to help her. However, today was not a day for little Kala to worry. She was simply relaxing, enjoying the beautiful morning and the careless walk through the woods. For a Hendunu, she leaned heavily toward her Nindian heritage and had a great love of nature, so it was no great surprise that one of her favorite places was the Whispering Forest. Kala had just stepped through the edge of the forest when she was torn from her thoughts by movement a movement in the brush. Nervously she looked around. "Hello?"The young canine took a step backward, momentarily retreating back into the trees. For a moment she stood there, nervous and on edge, afraid to investigate further. Her shape-shifting abilities were minimal, her magic was subpar...and she was a lithe, runty thing. Swallowing heavily, she puffed herself up with determination, gazing defiantly through the trees. She wouldn't stand here and shudder, she'd go see what was out there! With a bold determined step forward, Kala stepped into the open and looked around fearlessly. Or, as fearlessly as she could muster, as she was still trembling on her white paws. "Who's here?"

Arra flattened her ears and gave a slight glare towards the sound of someone sneaking up on her. Turning firmly on her heel she went straight for the sound. Perhaps a little fear would be a good thing in this one, but she was as bold as anything. "Me, Arraiya. Who're you?" She asked, as if it were the most normal introduction in the world.
She sat down heavily, and very un-ladylike. But hey, she wasn't into the whole etiquette thing, not yet. Maybe not ever. Who could tell? She wandered in a small circle, her hands dancing along branches here and there. She was now just barely inside the forest, what would her parents say about That?
The less confident female confused her, what was there to be afraid of? She didn't see anything worth even breaking a sweat over. "You okay?" She wondered, her blunt tactlessness showing in bright colours. To her, it wasn't rude to ask, she wasn't mocking her nervousness, but she wanted to understand better. Surely it couldn't have been something she'd done? She'd just been standing there after all, hadn't meant to scare a soul.
Her shapeshifting abilities were fine, being of Cionre, but she understood that some others didn't have that ability. Luckily this kept her from more rude and unnecessary comments, which she was quite commonly found making. Finally, she figured her energy would be better spent when this girl was more comfortable, so she sat down. Less intimidating.
"Uh... I was just hiding from my family. What about you?" She asked, trying to leave space inbetween her questions, but being eager for conversation. She liked social interaction, and meeting new beings, whatever sub-type they may be. This probably had something to do with her fearlessness. In her naivety she believed that if her family were good, all others must be the same. Oh the things she had to learn.

Luckily, Arra had nothing to fear in trusting this one. Kala might've been meek at times, but she was determined to be bold and strong. She didn't want to be defined by her squashed abilities. Arra's bluntness was soothing to the little Hendunu, though this was mostly because it meant Arra didn't care enough to play mind games with her. "Zitkalasa." She paused slightly and fidgeted a bit. "Though I'd prefer if you'd just call me Kala though."Kala stepped further from the line of trees, watching Arra with each step. Finally she allowed herself to settle by the edge of the water. "Mhm, I was just surprised." Her voice was soft, abashed. "I hadn't expected to run into anyone this morning."Kala was becoming more and more at ease around this other bebe and slowly she settled down in front of her. Slowly her head tilted thoughtfully. What was she doing out? Nothing really. "Why are you hiding from your family?" She flicked her ears forward curiously, her tail swaying slowly. "I was taking a walk in the woods, I like to listen to the spirits."Zitkalasa: 2

[] Let's liven things up :: Prods quiet thread:: n.n [] Well, Arraiya hadn't exactly lost all her family whilst trying to get away, her and Vayliea had inadvertently gone in much the same direction and wound up in the same place. Lie had already explored part of this forest, making sure she could always see the edge, so she wouldn't get lost. She was a fearless little imp with a fiery passion for life, being the perfect blend of everything that made Fire and gold types hard to live with, except the narcissism. She believed herself to be an ugly little soul and thus invented new ways of catching other's eyes. and today, like most days, she was up for a little mischief, which made the voices, one familiar one not, at the edge of the tree line all the more intriguing. She hid herself carefully, making sure t keep her golden coat out of sight as she listened, a grin spreading over her muzzle. So the other was lacking a bit in the confidence department? Well, this might just make for some grand entertainment. She watched as they made their way back toward the water and slowly slunk through the brush, keeping herself hidden. She'd passed a hollow log not far from her and, as experience would lead her to believe, she could make a nice little echo with it. However, before she reached the log she made her way through some brush quite loudly, rustling it vigorously on purpose to make it seem like something large before stopping at the log and growling and snarling into it, using it to amplify the aggressive noises just a bit and biting her tongue to keep from laughing. [] Hope you don't mind Tigs... if so I'll delete this n.n []

Arraiya, who could be classified as Artemis of the land, was not one who was so easily frightened. In fact, not being able to see this strange being made her curious as to what it was. This curiosity may get her killed someday but for now, it was rather handy. Not that she'd be upset at such a small joke, but she might be offended should it bother her friend. Zitkalasa was nice, and didn't deserve such rudeness, though at the moment Arra was unaware that it was simply one of her family.
"Hey Kala, shhhh..." She motioned for the femme to be quiet as she crept towards the loud noise, coming in from the side so as not to hurt her ears and possibly stay hidden. She was curious, but not a fool, she wouldn't go pouncing in there with a smile when something was making such a noise. She checked behind her once, just to see where the Ash femme was, making sure she wasn't nervous. She sure seemed to get nervous easily, but Arra wasn't here to judge.
Her nose nudged the bush in front of her just enough to make an eyehole, and when it did, she gave a very quizzical and somewhat weirded-out look at her sister. Stepping forward, she put her hands on her hips and took a moment to think before she spoke. "Uh... what are you doing?" Her voice was casual, but still with that edge of unsure curiosity. At the moment, her sister seemed to be quite the strange one, but then again, her actions were something that Arra herself hadn't ever considered. Be it maturity or simply being too busy exploring, she'd never seen or created anything relating to such tricks.

Zitkalasa might not have been the boldest creature, nor very adept at socializing with her peers, but the wild...that was something she was familiar with. She spent too much time alone in the forests and wilds of the world to fear it and so the sound of a possible beast lurking in the woods nearby did not strike her full of terror. In fact, Kala's ears flicked backward and the young canine bared her teeth slightly in a defensive manner. Ash types, after all, were known for their aggressive nature. Nevertheless, she stayed when the bolder female told her to be silent, watching curiously as the Fire/Gold mix crept around toward the whatever-it-was that was making all that noise. Arra's question brought a puzzled look onto Kala's face, and the Ash femme slowly climbed to her paws, stalking slowly toward her Cionre friend. 'Uhh...What are you doing?' is something a Cionre asked a large, aggressive beast and so Kala felt it was safe to assume whatever it was, it wasn't a monster or a very large creature out to eat them. Pausing at Arra's side, she blinked down at the other bebe . Great. Now she'd have to interact with two strangers or, in Arra's case, semi-strangers. Blinking slowly, she glanced over at Arra, awaiting a reply from the second Cionre. Zitkalasa: 5

Well, that plan had indeed backfired on the little golden pup, who had by now begun to laugh, only to stop suddenly and stare at her sister. Her expression quickly went from humor to anger and her ears went back as she plopped herself down on her butt and stared at the red canine. "Arraiya you never play fair." And with that she stuck her tongue out at her sister, pouting a bit for not getting her way.
One ear came halfway up at the approach of the other bebe before falling back down where it had been before. "Both of you? you mean neither of you were fooled? Grrr." She had, indeed, picked up all the worst traits of their parents, Lest's temper and Dar's desire for things to go his way were presently rearing their ugly heads.
"Not even a -little-?" She needed at least some validation, even if it were false. Then again, her sisters always had been the truth telling sort.
(Short cause I gotta get ready for work... =) )
