It felt like hours, possibly days, since the last time Jaseu had been comfortable, warm, and most of all, clean. "Noise, mud, wet, wind, weather,"he spat out the word with a flick of his tufted ears,"Crowds,"he hissed again, as some stray Defore bumped into him.
And what the hell were these Amuni doing here? Their putrid scent of holy water and religious stink was thick on the air. The meer thought of one of them coming even close to his pretty hide made him tense with bloodlust. How he'd love to rip one of them to shreds. He was just so, so...
"Jaseubi?"
Jaseu's eyes widened behind his misty monocle. That voice. Could it have been...? No, he refused to believe it. He refused to even turn around and look. Leto, the lovely child, would not allow himself outside in such dreadful conditions. Jaseu could not bare the thought of his pretty little hybrid mucked up and wet amongst this group of slobbering mutts. What would he think if he saw Jaseu in the state he was now.
The Inspiration shook his head, sitting back tiredly on his would-be white haunches, lifting a paw to slid his monocle a few centimeters closer to his eye. "I'm hearing things now,"he paused,"Hearing things again, rather." After all, that voice in his head calling him to Come To His Creator was probably just some imbalance of chemicals, triggered by something in the storm. That would explain why it effected all the other Euclides...and Amuni...and whatever-the-hell those other things were (Horses! Since when were Euclides horses! Meer beasts of burden, tamed by human hand).
He sniffed indignantly, curling his lips in disgust, and...caught the scent of someone all too familiar to his sensitive nose.
Oh. Oh dear. In fact, bloody fecking hell.
It was Leto.
Jaseu wheeled around, sending a spray of mud behind him, his eyes locked quite obviously on Leto's green gaze. He had made a point of not allowing Leto to see him as a Euclides, in an beast-like form. It would not have done much to help their previous endeavors along. Now, here he was, not only as a beast, but slick with rain and stained with mud. If ever he was going to show Leto his natural form, it would not have been when he was in such as state as this.
Without really thinking about what he was doing, Jaseu shifted. It was such a hurried movement that it sent a little shock of pain up his spine, allowing a hiss of breath to sneak between his flat, pearly teeth. It was only then, after the first few-hundred drops of rain silmutaniously pelted his body, that he realized he was now naked, as well as cold, wet, and dirty. The blush that lit his cheeks was almost as bright and as red as the 'hahaha' now perfectly visible against the pale smoothness of his skin.
His shifting back was almost as quick and as sudden as the first.
"L-leto,"Jaseu whinced at his own stutter. What had he done to piss off the gods enough for this punishment? "How did you...why did you..." he coughed, clearing his throat uneasily and shifting his weight from paw to paw with nervous tension,"I had not expected to meet you here." With an umbrella no less, smart boy. Jaseu couldn't help but let the corner of his lips curl in pleasure of knowing his lovely vampire had not needed to face the full torrent of weather.
That, and the pleasant stirrings the sight of seeing Leto in his coat, gave him.

Yeah so it was obvious that his variation was Ninidian, he didn't need someone poking at him about it. The subject was beginning to rub his fur the wrong way, he didn't want to remember what had happened only a couple months ago. It was still to fresh. "Maybe next time you should keep your feelings to yourself, then you wouldnt have to appologize when your wrong." he said curtly. Enko wasn't a mean Defore, and he was actually sorry for saying such harsh things after he had said them. But he had said them, and now there was nothing he could do about it. He had let out a cry of pain as the salt of the male's words dribbled into his fresh wound. If he really was suffering from the same thing as him, he would understand at any rate.
He felt slightly akward at the rather beautiful and gracious motion of the male's head and the fall of the droplets of water. The akwardness seemed to only drive his irritation further, and he snorted at the 'runing through the rain' comment. Enko had never liked the rain. Only once could he ever recall liking the rain, and it was one day when... He sighed before he could catch himself, and when he did he shook his head, making it look as if he was trying to shoo the both of them away further with his stag antlers.
"Why would you want to talk to me...I don't know you." He said a little less agressivly though still with an obvious annoyed tone. His reassuring smile did nothing to calm Enko's nerves, though he was slightly giving in. "How can I be so sure you two aren't here to do me in? For all I know you could both be Cionre..." He shook his horns accusingly.

Daoni tilted his head ever so slightly, his pale silver eyes searching Enko for something that fur alone couldn't explain. Of course, Daoni couldn't find what he was looking for, only a mind reader could have.
"Maybe I should've."
The feline's voice was soft and, to the untrained ear, somewhat thoughtful, but to Daoni's tone-keen audits the truth was quite clear. That ever present melancholy had slid its way back under his tongue and there was so very little he could do to ease it. Something about Enko reminded Daoni too much of himself, perhaps that was why he was so determined to make sure nothing happened to him.
He raised a brow slightly, gazing to the rooftops for a moment as Enko snorted his irritation. Daoni didn't expect a Fire type to appreciate the rain, it was probably more of a nuisance to them, really.
"Why is quite simple: you looked like you needed company, and Poseidon knows I needed to get my mind off of." He paused and then shook his head quickly. "Life."
Daoni had nearly mentioned his old mentor, a few years didn't seem to be enough time to lament the loss of his lifelong friend, but now was not the time to mourn. Not in front of his present company, or any company at all for that matter.
"As for not knowing me, that is rather easily solved as well: I am Daoniverusius, though I've only ever been called Daoni."
Now, finding a way to assure the canine he wasn't Cionre would be far harder. Hendunu, after all, were half Cionre even though Daoni himself leaned more toward the Ninidian variation.
"The female over there is definitely not Defore, let alone a Cionre. I've never seen one of our breed with white eyes like that." He paused then shook his head, there was no way around it. "Nor am I Cionre... I am a Hendunu...a mix, though I was raised as a Ninidian."

He watched the thought process of the male as well as listened to the lements. He was also by no means a mind reader, but when people talked they always did things subconsciously, like roll their eyes as they searched for a certain word to say, a small furrow the the eyebrow every now and then as they tried to formulate a thought to relate. It was interesting enough, and the fact that he was watching for these kinds of things most likely ment that he was calming. The back of his mind told him to keep his guard however, and he did his best to obey it, while another neglected part of his brain was telling him to sit down and withdraw his horns. So very neglected it was, he didn't even realize that it wasn't his brain, but the mix of both his mind and heart. And then the male introduced himself.
He stood there, glaring slightly at Daoni, his eyes now showing his thought process quite clearly as they made small jerky movements with his irises that looked as if he was reading a note in his mind. 'To reply or not to reply, this is the question.' he thought to himself poetically. They could use his name to back stab him. He shook his head again with a mask of agressiveness. Thats rediculous. He had been so rude up to this point. At least give the man his name. "Enkoodabaoo." he said slowly, then added "Enko for short, since most Defore say my name sounds like im trying to scare someone off unsuccessfully." How ironic.
He then looked over at the female. Not a Defore? Figures, he could have said that himself, he had never seen a Defore that looked like that before, but he would have hated to have been wrong if in fact it was. "What is she then?" he says as if she wasn't even there, since she didn't seem to want to speak up.
When Daoni says that he is actually a mix, Enko isn't sure how to react. He may have grown up in a Ninidian fashion, but his blood was tainted. He didn't know the word he was looking for...but it was blasphamous. Weather he hadn't the words to discribe the mix that he had only heard about in lore or not, his displeasure in finding out this little tid bit of information was completely apparent. He supposed though on second thought that he had no choice in the matter after all, and he WAS raised by his variation..."How very unfortunate." he mumbled bitterly.

Daoni's eyes never left Enko's thoughtful orbs, all the while he wondered if the male would even answer him. ...And if he did, would he bother to return the introduction? He hadn't been the most agreeable Defore up to the present time. A pleasant smile touched the Water lynx's muzzle as Enko introduced himself, quite the pleasant surprise.
"Enkoodaboo..." He rolled the word over his tongue slightly, finding he enjoyed it despite the length. After all, his name was no better. "Enko, then. It's a pleasure to meet you."
Daoni eyed the femme as well, studying her features for a short moment. She seemed to be lost in quite the pout, but Daoni could understand that. Enko's defensiveness could've easily been mistaken for downright distaste.
"If the lapine I met told me right...she's an Euclides; Demons of the Theatre."
His gaze traveled back to Enko and the lynx tilted his head momentarily. Something about the Cionre definitely caused his Ninidian counterpart displeasure, that much was obvious.
"It depends on one's outlook. I've found the mixed advantages helpful." Daoni smiled, but the expression came off far more sorrowful than he'd meant it to. How long had it been since he'd last gone out on the town as a human? It wasn't the time to think on such things. "But you don't trust the Cionre, do you?"

Enko only noded his head slightly in acknowledgement. He supposed that if this male was truely far more Ninidian he would be able to handle him. He seemed to be nice, and he wanted to let he guard down further, but he couldnt. Plus, it wasn't a good thing to do around the female who had suddenly turned silent as the grave. What was that he had called her? "A Demon?" he says increadiously. She had looked fishy, but this was rediculous. "I have never heard of these Euclides you speak of. Though that would explain alot." he gives a shifty glance toward the streets where there had been these supposed Euclides killing eachother off as well as other Defore.
He looks at the male named Daoni with narrowed eyes at his question. "No...No I don't....Not after..." his throat catches itself and he gulps, emotions wraping around his windpipe and slowly sufficating him. At length he sighs "Not after past events." he concludes cryptically. Again he looks hard at the male, "I suppose it could be an advantage if you wanted to pretend to be one or the other." 'That sure would have helped...' his thoughts spoke to him. His tail which had previously been stiff, swished in a semi-depressive manner. He sits on his hind quarters, defeated. If the two really wanted to maul him, he supposed he no longer cared. Besides...maybe he could see 'him' again.

Daoni shrugged, he wasn't quite sure of the concept yet either. He could only repeat what had been told to him by the colorful lapine he'd spoken to before encountering Enko.
"A spoke to one... He was a Lapine, called himself Akinoju..." The feline offered a little shrug. "Nonetheless, he filled me in on his kind. They're soulless, but otherwise quite similar to us. In fact, he called us cousins... We've just evolved differently in our natural setting."
Daoni seemed more relaxed, finally more serene then lost in sorrow, as he divulged information about the Euclides. In fact, Daoni was inwardly surprised at the amount of comfort he received from doing so. It was quite likely nothing more than a product of how he'd been raised. His old mentor had always been more scholarly than anything else.
However, Enko's reply sapped the comfort from his eyes, too easily bringing back memories that had happened far too long ago to still be fresh. Why couldn't he just move on? Accept that he was gone and go on with life?
"I see..." His long, low sigh was an easy echo of Enko's own. Undoubtedly they had suffered the same thing, and for that, Daoni wouldn't...no couldn't, pry. "I'm sorry to hear that."
It was only when Enko once again spoke that Daoni realized he'd been gazing absently at his paws, staring at the beaded bracelets. Tilting his gaze upward once more, he attempted a smile that he was quite pleased to realize didn't feel all too false upon his muzzle.
"I imagine it would be, though I've honestly never encountered a Cionre to know." He frowned slightly. "I never even knew my father, so I'm rather lacking in knowledge about them." Daoni shrugged absently. "However, the only part of my Cionre heritage I've ever bothered with is being able to change into a human. It can be quite help on occasion."
Daoni watched as the familiar wave of depression washed over Enko, so tangible that Daoni wondered if he could reach out and pull that veil of defeat off of him. Alas, Daoni knew too much of his own sorrows to ever believe it could be that easy to cast away one's worries. Especially, when one's worries were three years dead and the pain had yet to cease.
The Hendunu male was at a loss...what was he to do? How could he help with something he couldn't even cope with? Was there really anything that could be said to ease something like that? No...not really. Daoni knew that too well.
"Are..." He trailed off, sighed and then started again. "Will you be all right?"
His tone said more than his physical words did... It spoke of understanding without physical words, of misery that Daoni kept eternally corked in a bottle that was swiftly running out of space.

Leto tilted his head slightly, rather surprised by the Marionette's disbelief. However, it was quite understandable in a situation like this, Jaseu was not the sort of feline to go running about in the wind, rain and muck. So, he waited Allowing the Inspiration time to discover Leto wasn't at all a figment.
Luckily, the reaction when he did realize was exactly as he'd expected and the vampire/lycan halfbreed was quick to dodge what little mud was sent his way, though the majority appeared to have hit a rather disgruntled Amuni. However, it was Jaseu who he was focused on and when their eyes locked, a low smile touched his pale lips.
For the next moment or two, Leto honestly wasn't sure what to think. The shift from Euclides to human was too swift, and the the shift back was probably just as bad.
"Jaseu..."
He purred out softly, concern lightly tinting his voice after the unneeded distress he had caused the ravishing Marionette. Quietly he crouched down, putting himself on a more equal level with the Inspiration lynx. Even soaking wet and covered in mud, Jaseu was exceptionally beautiful. Feline or not, Leto didn't mind...after all, he could change into a rather large wolf himself. Though, doing so in the middle of angry Euclides would only get him torn to shreds.
"I've never seen so many Euclides and Amuni and...what the hell are those horses and deers in such?" Leto shook his head, forcing himself to get back on topic. "I wanted to know what was going on."
After a short pause to gather his thoughts once more, his attention slid inevitably from the actual reason of leaving the warmth of his room, to his new reason to stay outside. Slowly he rose back to his feet, sliding out of the coat and held it open for Jaseu.
"If you switch back into your human form, we'll be able to share this umbrella." He smiled slightly. "It's not much, but at least it'd be warm in the coat and you wouldn't have to deal with more rain."
