In-character games are a new feature to the Murdon Legacy, which allows your characters to gain new items and favors in an exciting IC way. All games possess some items which are unique to them, and will never be given out through events or commissions, which makes them extra special to participate in.
Why make them IC, though? Well, for a few reasons. This gives your characters a chance to earn reply points while you, the player, have some fun with these new games. This also keeps those characters who are inactive, or who don't get role-played, from gaining items that will never be used, or favors that won't have any effects. It's also important to note that, in order to participate in a game, your character must also be role-playing in the same province. All games are province-specific, and are a little extra bonus for those residents and visitors of the area.
In order to play any of the games, you need something called game tokens. Different games cost different amounts of tokens to be played, just like shop items cost secor. Like points, once a game token is used, it's gone forever.
How do you get game tokens? There's lots of ways!
- OOC events and contests
- Through the casino
- As prizes from the Kiran Kasso
- Purchased through commissions.
Yes, that's right. Game Tokens, unlike points, can be purchased through RL commissions.
Who keeps track of game tokens? The staff officially keeps track of them, but players are more than welcome to keep a tally for themselves. Because there are limited ways of acquiring game tokens, all of which require staff involvement, this is possible, and helps prevent cheating the system.
What if I don't want to play games? What can I do with my tokens? Tokens, unlike points, can be traded between ML players, in exchange for items. Tokens cannot be traded for characters, familiars, disturblings, natokua, or points of any kind. All trades need to by approved by a staff member, so the records can be updated appropriately.
