THE GIVING TREE
[/u]Located deep with Balada's forests is one of the oldest, strangest, and most revered trees of all. This is the Giving Tree, a collosal willow with branches that sweep to the forest floor. Its bark is silver, its leaves glimmer in the patches of forest light that sweep down through the higher canopy. Upon approaching it one is overcome with a sense of awe and reverence. A feeling that this tree has been here for much longer than it should be.
As your steps bring you closer the tree seems to shake, its branching swaying despite the lack of breeze. It sways upright, branches gently drifting, and appears to now be watching you. Now that you've got its attention, what are you going to do?
.// HOW TO PLAY
- The Giving Tree loves to hear stories, especially stories about the wild creatures in Balada's jungle. Tell it a tale (doesn't need to be long, a small drabble will do just fine), and if the tree is impressed, it will drop one of its fruits!
- The Giving Tree only bears a certain amount of fruit each month. Once its dropped all its fruit, it won't produce any more until the next month.
- To play, respond to this post with an in character approach to The Giving Tree, and tell it your tale.
- A moderator will then respond to your post, stating whether the tree was impressed or not, and giving you your prize!
- The number of fruit the tree bears differs each month, depending on the season. (Summer: 7-10 fruit, Fall: 4-7 fruit, Winter: 1-4 fruit, Spring: 10-15 fruit).
.// RULES[/u]
- The Giving Tree costs 5 Game Tokens to play. These tokens are spent. You can earn more game tokens through various games and events.
- You, as a player, may only approach the tree a total of three times per month. It doesn't matter what (or how many) characters you use, so long as you don't exceed this limit.
- The difficulty level of impressing the tree, and the rarity of the fruit, changes for each season. (Summer: Easy, Fall: Hard, Winter: Extremely Hard, Spring: Extremely Easy). Keep this in mind when you play.
- A character may only tell the Giving Tree one story per post. You must wait for a response before that character can play again.
- A role-play post is required in order to play the Giving Tree. (You will receive reply points for this.)
- Because the Giving Tree is located in Balada, any character who approaches it must have made at least one in-character post role-playing in this province.
.// PRIZES[/u]
- Any fruit found in Filibai's shop.
- Fruit unique to the Giving Tree, of various rarity and potency.
- Seasonal fruit (such as halloween, christmas, or other holiday items).
