Introduction
On the far end of the city, following the main road from the Euclides Theatre to the very edge of town, is a small, rickety shack. The doors are made of broken wooden planks, the walls nothing more than haphazard sheets of cork and metal. It seems the very slightest breath of wind could knock it over.
Through the door there is a small dark room, at the end of which hands a tattered purple curtain. Everything is bathed in darkness, and nothing more than the flickering silhouette of candlelight can be seen behind the curtain.
"Ah, good evening."
A voice. A shape makes itself known in the corner of the room, tall and alien. A murdon.
"You're here to complete a quest for Yuukuj," it was not a question.
Even if that wasn't your purpose, it is now.
Process
In order to go on a Murdon quest you must be in possession of a Silver Heart. It costs 1 silver heart per quest, no matter the level of difficulty or the prizes involved.
Murdon quests are varied, and it's impossible to tell what task you're going to get until you receive the PM with instructions. All quests come with a deadline. If you decide to quit your quest, or you do not make the deadline, you will not receive the prize, and nor will you get your silver heart back.
There are four levels of difficulty for Murdon quests;
Simple: Normally consists of finding a URL, meeting a certain breed/type/species, or collecting some images. Prizes are small, deadlines are moderate, and they're fairly quick and easy to complete.
Moderate: This can be anything from writing a small vignette or drabble, tracking down some information or images, creating an image, meeting a hard to find breed/type/species, making a haiku based around a prompt, or starting an rp based around a prompt. Deadlines are usually a bit longer and prizes are moderate in worth.
Difficult: This usually involves writing. It can be anything from writing a short story based around a prompt, completing a piece of poetry, or creating an image or drawing based around a prompt. Prizes are good, deadlines are fairly long (around a month), but these take more time and effort from you.
Advanced: The HIGHEST level of Murdon Quests. These often involve writing stories, murdon poetry, short comics, art based around a prompt, essay writing, biographies for characters and the like, history snippets, etc. Difficult and time consuming, but the prizes are spectacular.
Prizes
Please note: Your LC automatically receives 8 points upon completing a murdon quest.
These are example prizes. Prizes are by no means limited to this.
Simple:Extra points, common items, disturblings, common random LC, custom grabbags
Moderate: Extra points, items, disturblings, random and semi-custom LC, custom grabbags, semi-anthro versions of LC, abilities
Difficult: Extra points, items, disturblings, semi-custom LC, custom grabbags, semi-anthro version of LC, non-rare custom LC, cosplay LC, abilities, rank promotion, random and semi-custom rares
Advanced: Extra points, items, disturblings, Custom LC, Rares, Artifacts, abilities, rank promotion
Rules
I. You must have a Silver Heart in order to apply for a murdon quest
II. You, the adopter, may only be on one murdon quest at a time
III. If you do not complete your quest by the deadline, or decide to quit, you will NOT get your silver heart back.
IV. You must PM Mem with a link (or whatever relevant) once your task is completed.
V. Some quests are going to be absurd and non-LC related (I once set up a contest to find an image of Alan Rickman's foot), please keep this in mind. (The majority WILL be LC related, though)
VI. Do not apply for a quest when the shack is closed.
VII. Extra points/prizes will be awarded for effort, creativity, etc. You WILL get more if you send in your form with a roleplay response to the introduction. (The character speaking is Arry, a neuter murdon working for Yuukuj.)
