Website Help

Hello. ^^; Er, I finally started on my website, and I'm hosting with Geocities. I downloaded a layout, and everything works fine, except the image doesn't show up.

The large, gray rectangle should have a header image, but for some reason all it does is link to the image.

The code's rather long, but I can post it if you think it could help solve my little problem. I seem to be rather HTML impaired.

Okay, I noticed one thing wrong. See the '<div class="gfx"><a href="header.jpg"><span></span></a></div>' just above the Button Text codes? The 'a href' is a link code, which is not what you want. Try putting in '<img src="header.jpg">' which is an image displaying code, and see what that does .

...Also, you don't even want to KNOW how much experiene I have fixing self-screwups. The website artists would be ashamed of me *snickers*.

Hahaha, I used to have a domain. But that turned out to be a HUGE disaster, as I didn't know the first thing about HTML. So it's geocities for me. :3 It's so much easier.

Really? I envy you, I've always wanted a domain, never had the cash however XD. And I do love me some geocities <3.

I'm finishing paging mine as well, I should be doing homework but I got distracted :3. Also, don't worry about the critter ID's just yet, I just spent about an hour and a half doing them all and I sent them into Mem to check over, so with any luck she'll post and assign them soon and we can all update pages to display that .

It was a birthday present, so at least I didn't waste my money on something I couldn't have used...that would have been an extreme disappointment. Never again though. Geocities is surprisingly easy, and much better than freewebs.

That always happens the minute I get on the computer, I ignore my homework and just get stuck on the internet. XD Luckily we only have three days of school this week or I'd be in trouble. Oh, and that's really nice of you, thanks. ^^;

One more thing, for each critter I know there needs to be 200 words, but does it really matter what you write? I was just wondering, as some places want a story, others want a persona, etc. XD; I don't wanna end up doing the wrong thing.

Oooh nice! I suppose it's my own fault for never directly ASKING for my own domain... my parents would harass me and tell me it's a waste of money. My boyfriend would probably support me... but I count on him to buy me awesome videogames XD.

Ugh I know! I have so much I should be doing too, and I just sit and look at the clock and say 'well, I'll just have to do it faster!' XD d'oh. Never happens. I end up fooling around on the internet all night X3. Soooomeday I'll learn, eventually...

I don't think so, I've done a lot of random description blurbs in my time, and I have a LOT that need doing still, come to think of it... . Just so long as it introduces the critter in some fashion and lets you get a feel for them. I think a little 'you walk in and this creature greets you' works well for a lot of people

Ha, no, my parents know me too well; they'd know I'd never be able to manage a domain. And they were right, in just a few days I got so frustrated and gave up. Oh well. Videogames > Domain in my (very biased) opinion, at least you don't have to pay for them every year. x.x

I had to write an essay for history yesterday, and I came home really determined to get it done. Five minutes later, I'm on this and checking my e-mail. I didn't do it at all, I had to do it in study hall. I might as well, this is so much better anyway.

Yeah? Okay. ^^ I didn't want to write out three intricate stories and then realize I did it wrong and needed to start over. XD That's something I would do though. I want to start now though, so I don't have to write a million or so at once. XP I don't think I could do it actually.
