G E N E R A L
1 DO NOT STEAL AND/OR EDIT ANY OF THE ART. This includes banners, forum graphics, items, and adoptables, both official and member made. This means that you may not alter your LC (et al) in any way. All edits and changes must be done by Memoru, or another officially designated individual with permission to do so.
2 FOLLOW PROBOARDS TOS The Murdon Legacy role-play board is hosted on proboards, which means that all members must obey the proboards TOS. This means that members must be thirteen years or older in order to play.
3 DO NOT REDISTRIBUTE This means that, if you commission, trade-for, or win items, LC, familiars, or any other creation in the ML, you may not resell it, retrade it, or redistribute it to other members or non-members of the ML. Any exceptions WILL be noted on a case-by-case basis, and permission to do so can only be granted by Memoru. The only exception to this rule is in-character transactions of items or disturblings.
4 RESPECT FELLOW MEMBERS This means no trolling, flaming, or insulting other members of the ML forum for any reason. This includes private message! There is no excuse for making fellow members feel unwelcome. Any rudeness or discriminatory behavior will be punished.
5 RESPECT & OBEY THE STAFF The staff is here for a reason. If a staff member suggest you do something, or explains you've broken a rule and must fix it, obey them. Rudeness directed to the staff will not be tolerated.
6 LC ARE ROLE-PLAY REQUIRED If you choose to join the game and acquire a character to play, it must be role-played. Characters sitting dormant can be re-adopted out at the staff's leisure. Furthermore, an LC that is not role-played cannot be bred, grow, or receive abilities and enhancements. For those members with several LC, let it be known that, if some are inactive, they will not be taken back, so long as a fair majority of your characters are role-played. Commissioned characters will never be reclaimed.
7 READ ALL INFORMATION This includes everything listed under the 'must read' board of the forum, as well as the information on the website. This information is required for smooth, consistent game-play.

1 USE CORRECT GRAMMAR, SPELLING, AND PUNCTUATION The forum is equipped with a spell check, so there should be no excuse for improper spelling. By making your posts legible, you make it more enjoyable to role-play with. Please do so.
2 NO POWER-PLAYING You may never control the actions or thoughts of another player's character. If you want a very specific action to occur, PM your role-play partner and discuss it. No one enjoys being taken control of.
3 NO GODMODING This is, no invincible characters. Your character cannot dodge every hit, or hit with every attack. Leave your attacks open ended (ex. Bob threw a punch at Steve, NOT Bob's fist landed in Steve's face), and allow for your RP partner to decide whether or not it hits.
5 THERE IS NO POST LIMIT ON ML This means you may post whatever length the role-play in question requires. It is not an excuse for laziness. Give your fellow RP-ers something to respond to, or what's the point of the role-play? Quantity does not equal, and can often impede, quality.
6 REGARDING NPCS NPCS are created for the purpose of enriching the world of ML. They can be used in any role-play, by anyone. Minor NPCs, such as shopkeepers and "known" civilians may be used to your hearts content. Keep in mind that no one needs to play any NPC the same as you. No one owns these characters. Major NPCs, such as the murdon leaders and royalty, can be role-played on a case-by-case basis if they are required. Nothing major or permanent may be done to or with them.
7 STAFF-MEMBER INVOLVEMENT MAY NOT BE IGNORED If a staff member posts in your thread, any effects they create cannot be passed over or ignored. If something unusual happens in the weather, if a supernatural occurrence takes place, or if something - such as an item or animal - appears, you may not act as if nothing has happened. This is for the purpose of role-play enrichment, and may allow for powers or changes to your characters, new items to be found, and familiars to be acquired. Why pass that up?

G U I L D R U L E S Information on guilds and what they are can be located here.
1 YOUR CHARACTER CAN ONLY BE IN ONE GUILD AT A TIME. If you character is, say, part of the wall watch, they can't also join the perfumer's guild. If your character (or you) is no longer happy with their profession, they must officially quit their guild prior to joining a new one.
2 RANKS DO NOT CROSS OVER If you are a level three herbalist, and you leave your guild for a different one, you return to level 1 for that new occupation. Conversely, if you return to your previous guild, you only receive one rank demotion (eg. level 3 herbalist becomes a level 2 upon rejoining her original guild).
3 GUILDS ARE PROVINCE SPECIFIC Your character must be a resident of the province the guild is situated in, in order to join it. While your character is still free to visit other provinces, if they move away permanently they have officially "retired" from that guild.
4 YOUR CHARACTER MUST BE ACTIVE IN THE GUILD Unless you've posted in the hiatus boards, your character must participate in at least one guild event every 2 months, or they will be "kicked out" of the guild.
5 YOU MAY SELL YOUR WARES If your character is part of a guild that creates items, such as the perfumers or herbalists, they may sell their creations. Items may be purchased with points, or exchanged for other items. All points/items must go to the character who created the item, and all transactions must be role-played out in character.

C H A R A C T E R L I M I T S
PLAYABLE RACES: ● Includes all Legacy Creations {Euclide, Amuni, Defore, & Hybrids} ● Humans ● Murdon
There is no limit on the number of playable race characters you may possess. You may have as many LC as you can acquire and handle.
Humans and murdon characters are much more uncommon, and limitations will be placed on a case by case basis if it appears that a member is hogging them.
FAMILIARS: ● Non-sentient native Izarn species ● Disturblings Limitations on familiars are based on characters, not the player. Any playable race may acquire any species of familiar.
No character may have more than 3 non-sentient native Izarn species.
No character may have more than 1 collection of disturblings, for a maximum of 20 di.
NATOKUA
Natokua are extremely rare, and are most commonly given out through murdon quests. There are both character and player limitations with this species.
No character may have more than 1 natokua ever in their life-time. This means if their bond dies, they cannot get another to replace them.
No one player may have more than 3 natokua at one time. So, unlike with characters, if your natokua dies, another character (who has never had one) may still acquire one.

As points are given out for spars within role-play, a set of rules pertaining to them has been developed. In order to earn any points for an in-character fight, the following must be obeyed.
R U L E S - No godmoding or power-playing is permitted during spars. For a deeper explanation of this, see the "Rules" thread.
- Killing a character is NOT permitted unless in a death match. If a character dies of its wounds after battle (after the spar has been officially ended), that is perfectly acceptable.
- Abilities can be used during a spar, and are, in fact, encouraged. Please keep limitations in mind, and note that using abilities will deplete mental and physical energy just the same as using physical attacks would.
- Each character is permitted only one full dodge per spar. This means that every other attack must hit, whether it be a full hit, a glancing blow, or otherwise.
- Spars last for a particular number of posts, and are then considered concluded. This length depends on the type of spar, noted below.
- Winning by default occurs when your opponent breaks the rules, or has not posted for a set amounts of days (depending on the type of spar).
- An official judge must be contacted to overview a spar. Points are not awarded if a judge is not present.
- If you have a particular reason for a spar, or wish for a certain outcome, this must be discussed OoC prior to the beginning of the spar, and the judge should be notified of this.
- If participating in a death match, you understand that there is a possibility your character will die. You may not complain about the outcome once the spar is finished. If you do not want to take the risk, do not participate.
C A T E G O R I E S
Friendly SparOften no real damage is dealt, the spar is simply that. A spar. A friendly tumble with someone you know, with no purpose other than to practice your fighting skills or have some fun. Post # Completion: at 5 posts each. Default Win/Lose: after 7 days without posting ChallengeOften for position (ex. two members of the same rank, trying to win a place in a faction), to steal members, to challenge another faction for rights, land, or dominance, for mates, or simply just for pride and prestige. Post # Completion: at 7 posts each Default Win/Lose: after 7 days without posting Death MatchThe world just ain't big enough for the both of us. Whether for clashing egos, the righteous extermination of the euclide by the amuni, or a need for prey, one of these LC simply aren't going to make it out alive. Post # Completion: at 10 posts each Default Win/Lose: after 7 days without posting CompetitionFormally held by a faction leader, province leader, or the ML staff, competitions are a chance to win items, abilities, and other spectacular prizes! This is also the form of spar used in the gladiator arenas of Turacha.Post # Completion: varies Default Win/Lose: varies [/blockquote]
