Following her lead completely, Sergej frowned once again at the thought of a blood debt being out on one such as her. He could live with such a thing, having brought it quite firmly upon himself and returned it with vehemence. She had done nothing to invite it besides being born into a family with a particularly tenacious enemy.
”You are not alone in being hunted,” he informed her with a deep canine sigh. ”Though in your case, the circumstances are considerably less fair. I also have a particular enemy amongst the demons, a young chiroptae named Kaedaj, on the cusp of adulthood and as vicious as they come. He is a perfect example of why we hunt them. His cast, for I can only assume that his family is powerful, has been harassing me now for a little while. It makes hunting quite...inconvenient.”
His frown deepened slightly. Yes, his pursuit of the fiends had been greatly hampered by the added interference. ”What I really need is the strength of a congregation behind me,” he admitted candidly. ”I’ve heard rumors of the arrival of this Pope as well. Long have I searched, but I have yet to find him. Hopefully someday he will deem me worthy of an audience and I might plead my case.”

The young canid started to pick up her pace. Her mind split between listening to her companion, and recalling the short cut. As she listened to him, she once again recalled the bad events. It happened so fast. The blood curdling scream of her own blood and kin, the malicious laughing of the demons. She suddenly stopped in place, eyes closed and her head tightly pressed against her chest stance that screamed pain.
"I fine." She said to releive any worry he had. "I guess we both are looking for a congregation." her eyes scanned the walls, reconizing more graffiti. "We're almost their."
Suddenly the alley just stoped and opened into a garden, or so it used to be. Dryed out flowers, crinkled up vines, and died bushes showed the remnants of a once flourishing garden. "This is it." She began, her eyes trailed to the ground of the long since dead garden. "Would you like to come in, or would you rather go back to your home?" she'd asked him, looking up to come in contact with his eyes.
(this is crap I know. x.x )

The garden, despite its long-dead flowers and dry underbrush, remained a beautiful place, a figment of its former glory that still managed to retain the grace and elegance of a time past. When this monastery had been in habited, doubtless the monks took good care of their plants. Now, however, dead leaves and branches crackled underfoot as Sergej stepped into the open space.
He heard her question and turned his head to look at her, soulful eyes meeting her own. ”Normally I would feel compelled to continue my work this night. Then again, normally I would not be receiving such an invitation, especially not from a creature as compelling as you.” He smiled and inclined his head. ”I would be honored to enter your home. Mine is not nearly so inviting.”
In truth, he craved company beyond all else and would bask in the glow of another’s presence for as long as Asima allowed. For far too long he had spent his nights on the hunt, only to return sore, tired, and lonely to the confessional in the abandoned church that he called home. Amuni were social creatures and he felt the lack of camaraderie with his fellows quite keenly. It had been months since he last heard another’s voice speaking to him in friendship. This was not something he could relinquish so easily.

Asima's attention flickered to the garden. The Monastery was between two much bigger buildings, it was almost like a very, very wide alleyway. Dryed vines crawled their way up one of the red bricked buildings. Next to it small dead blackish grey wood that probably used to house many bushy leaves. Then there what used to be a bird bath, overflowing with not water but leaves. Surrounding it was long dead flowers. In the middle of the garden a brick path cut through it, smaller paths splitting from it to different parts of the small garden. The Monks must've loved nature.
Asima smiled at his words. She would've protested if he denied. Or at least ask him to come back. She started to trot along the main path to the back door. The original door was not there. Only planks of rotted wood, at the corner there was an opening hidden by a few rags that blew in the wind. It was big enough for the two to fit through, one after each another.
"This is my home." She sighed in delight. Shapeshifting into her anthromorphic form, she litted a few candles. The ground was cold but smooth, made of a very hard and enduring substance. The dim light reflected against the goldish tint of the walls. There was a torn up blue rug that went all the way to the far side of the room, up the stairs and stopping at a pearly Crusifix. It shun like brand new.
Asima looked at it with a loving stare. "I shined it up to brand new." she sighed again, quite proud of it. "Come, let me show you my favorite cell." She started in the direction of a hall with many doors.
In her four legged form, she nosed open a door reveiling a plain beige colored room with a bed, desk, bible, other religious books, and candle. "Make yourself comfortable, it would be an honor get you anything." She once again lit the candle basking the small room in a warm glow.

Sergej followed along behind Asima as she ducked through the hidden entrance, pressed to the ground so as not to scrape his back on the rough wood and leave traces of bright blue fur behind to mar her entryway. He managed well enough and emerged in the monastery just as she assumed her bipedal form and lit several candles for illumination.
He admired her home, having only his own to judge by in this crowded city. It may have been in poor repair, but his was far worse, and so he thought it quite nice. The shining cross immediately captured his attention and he spent a moment admiring its pearlescent gleam. ”You did a wonderful job,” he complimented her on the cross as he followed her up the stairs.
This room, clean and simple as it was, delighted him. ”You keep your home so wonderfully,” he told her, voice reflecting honest admiration. ”It’s clear that you care for this place. That you sleep on a true bed and keep holy books in your room is even more wonderful. It has been so long since I’ve been in polite company that I feel like a savage.”
He laughed quietly at himself and continued to look around. ”I need for nothing more than your time and company, both of which you have already granted me. Thank you once again for the invitation. Had I not accompanied you, I likely would have engaged in a scuffle or two and returned to my confessional to lick my wounds until the next night.” He smiled self-deprecatingly and sat on the floor, watching her.

She smiled at his compliment. The silvery glow of the pearl like Cross was dim compared to her bright face. She took a minute to survay the room before leading Sergej to the cell.
"Its been so long since this place has seen anyone, exept for me." she said after blowing the dust off the desk. She once again turned into her anthromorphized form and started to clean up the room. Papers that had been messidly piled on the desk was put away on an unorganized shelf.
She then turned to him. Her head cocked in an inquisive look. "You must be quite a fighter." she noted. She then turned to a window and gazed out at the sky, which was now very dark and full of stars. "Its quite late, prehaps you'd like to stay for the night? It would be quite rude of me to let you leave on such a dangerous chilly night. I have a few extra cells."
(ooc:Once again crap, this is what I get when I replay to an rp and make an paragraph outline for school at the same time.)

With an appreciative smile, Sergej nodded his head. ”I believe I will have to take you up on that invitation as well, my friend. I could use a night’s peaceful rest and I can’t think of anywhere I would sleep more soundly than here. Likewise, should you need anything of me, I will be happy to help.”
The prospect of spending the night in this monastery, knowing that another Amuni slept nearby, would do wonders for the pangs of loneliness that always kept him from sleep for nearly an hour before finally relenting and allowing him to drift off. A bed would be more comfortable than his little ‘nest’ of fabrics in the abandoned church by far. It would be strange, waking with the sun rather than going to sleep just as it crested the horizon.
He looked forward to the change more than he cared to admit, and with her beautiful smile to greet him, he would wake the happiest of Amuni.
((OOC :: Mine's a bit crappy too, apologies. I'm posting and packing at the same time. XD))

Asima silently sighed in releif that he accepted her offer. "It would be nice for my too." she said quietly. "I have an extra cell across the hall, however I am not yet ready to sleep with guest." she hesitated thinking of what to say next.
She moved slowly towards him, her mind lingered on something else. She sat by him and layed her paws upon his. "You don't know how much your company means to me, I will dread when you leave." she whispered to him, her head downcast at the unhappy feeling. She didn't want him to leave, not yet. It seemed like heaven had put them together, in an unlikely place she had found beauty.
(ooc:crap again sorry I'm alittle inspiration lacked right now. So would you like these two to be mates? I'm all up for it.)

Sergej started slightly at the touch, looking down at her paws on his uncomprehendingly for a moment before glancing back up and seeing her unhappy expression. It cut him to the quick, as did her words, echoing his own feelings so sincerely. In a flash of sudden clarity, he saw what needed doing and he smiled tentatively, hoping her words hinted at acceptance of this proposal.
”I don’t see why there should be two lonely Amuni, living so far from one another in this city and stewing in their solitude,” he began carefully. ”If you don’t find the idea too invasive, I could...well, that is to say, I would be honored beyond belief if you allowed me to take up residence here. The thought of leaving chills me to the bone. I don’t want to go back to the drafty, abandoned church, knowing that right here you sit as alone as I. It makes no sense at all.”
He held very still as he spoke, trying though his body language to convey to her the earnestness of his words. When he finished, he slowly lowered his head and placed it upon their paws in appeal.
((I’m up for it too. I think their personalities mesh rather well: her passive, devoted, and sweet; him deferential, dedicated, and...well, very sweet to his own kind. Very protective. Also, I want to see rainbow babies with beautiful patterns. *_* Very much so. Where would you like this thread to end? When they go to sleep?))

Her heart suddenly rised in joy. It seems her emotions are gone from depressed to excited in one second. Her mind started to plan ahead, they could do missionary work together, they could gather food, they could save humans and work for God!
But she was getting ahead of herself, all those things could wait for tomorrow. She knew she couldn't sleep tonight. "Indeed, its only sensible, I agree." she tried to stay calm, but oh how she wanted to burst out in joy!
She looked into his soulful eyes, no more being alone, no more fearing demons, no more cold silence, for both of them. She gave him a wide smile. How could meeting a stranger one cold night, in a place most disgusting, bring so much joy. She tilted her head slightly. "Would you like to see your sleeping courters?" It would only be reasonable if he would to live with her to get to know his cell.
(Yayness! Yes, rainbow bebes with gorgeous patterns. -squee- I guess it should end when they go to sleep.)

Asima’s expression of delight mirrored Sergej’s own feelings on the matter. He had been alone for so long and here, in one night, was the answer to his most fervent prayers. God was truly good. Even his most humble subjects felt the warmth of his blessings in their everyday lives. Through such simple things one could know the nature of the divine.
”I would, please,” he said in response to her question, his smile matching hers. ”It has been a long day in more ways than one, but I would name it one of the happiest I can remember if for no other reason than its ending. Anywhere you’d like to place me is fine.”
He stood, removing his paws from her gentle touch reluctantly, and waited to follow her. In more ways than one, she was a Godsend.
((Short, with my apologies. I find time for these in between short breaks of paper-writing death.))

With a small dip of her finely crafted head, she led him across the dim hall to another door. This time she had to transform into her anthro form to open it, the knob was rusty and she had to use force to get it to open. "This is the best free cell I have." she confessed.
Once again a candle had to be lit to banish the darkness. It reveiled a pale cell much like the other one. Infact, it mirrored it exactly. Except it had no messy papers, and it looked unlived in and dusty but that could be changed.
She then started to nose her way into the desk cabinets. Her head dissapered for only a second, but then surfaced with an old baby-blue colored blanket. "Its old, but it'll keep you warm" it was spred on the bed, making it look more cozy. "I hope you have a good spleep."
(Unless Sergej wants to stay up alittle longer, this could be the ending post.)
