A soft whoosh of breath escaped her parted beak. It wasn't his fault. It wasn't even really her fault, for one cannot change who one is inside. These profound thought were just flitting through her head when he attempted the first sentance. It caught her attention as he quickly tried to change whatever he had been about to say. He was never, what? Alone? But then, who would he be with? She ruffled her feathers ever so slightly, puzzling.
It was then that she noticed his coloration again. He was an Insanity. Something clicked in her mind. He was never alone because he had himself. Which meant that he believed himself to also be someone else. Under normal circumstances she might have broke out into a sarcastic snicker of some sort. But for some reason, this didn't quite bother her. Because if she got right down to it, she did the same sort of thing. Surely others had arguments with themselves? He just happened to give these "selves" names. Was that the only difference? If so, it seemed a paltry one.
There she went again! This blasted empathy! She would never survive if she let it get the better of her. But he was something else. Maybe because he was of her breed, or because she, too, was lonely. But she allowed his next sentance to charm her. Because, most likely, after they departed ways she would go back to her cut-throat self. Or perhaps she would now...have a little fun? Make him believe she was truly interested?
"Oh, how true that is, my sweet." She cooed, returning his soft gaze. "I am glad I found you."

He rolled his eyes, ignoring the giggles of Sasebyn. She was far too crytical for her own good. Suddenly, he remembered not to acknowledge his voices in her presence, he didn't want to freak her out. He hoped she didn't see his sarcastic gesture. How embarrasing that would be!
She was curious, a true fascination. How strange that she had not stabbed him in the back, like most Poisons? He was aware that there were variations within the types, but she seemed to be fully capible of turning on him, leaving him and his conscience alone, just as they were before she inturrupted his out-of-tune song. Oh, how he hoped she wouldn't do such a thing. He was truly enjoying the Avian's company. He wasn't sure that he wanted to be alone with only Rayike and Sasebyn again. Though he loved them both dearly, he craved the company of another. This female, perhaps?
She had him thinking in strange ways. Before he was blessed with her company, he would have rather spent time with his voices. Not only was she effecting his thoughts... but his stomach. What was this strange-but delightful-feeling within his stomach? It was certainly forgien to him!
Her sweet? Her words brough a grin to his beak, and his talons tapped on the ground in a rhythmic pattern. "As am I," he said, his gaze staring into her beautiful, white orbs, failing to read them like so many had done to his own eyes. "To be honest, my Lady, I am honored to be in your company. Not many have stayed around to talk to an Insanity as you have," He bowed his head, to show that he was truly grateful of her company.

Lark noticed the stange eye-roll, but had enough sense to realize that is was not directed at her, and was, in fact, completely unrelated. Her mind was dancing an intricate dance around her jumbled thoughts anyways, so she didn't have time to give it much thought.. She was conflicted.
She did not want to tarnish the deadly reputation of her type, and yet she found herself unwilling to give in to the desire to somehow betray him, to hurt him. She felt some sort of connection with him, one she had never felt before with another. She almost felt anger at him. For one thing, he was forcing her to compromise her usual standards. And for another, he shouldn't hate himself so!
"If not many have stayed, then they are missing out on a beautiful thing, Kaeji'maye."
She spoke his name quietly, softer than the rest of her words. She wasn't just playing anymore.
"And do not bow your head to me, for I am no better than you in rank or otherwise!"

He stretched his wings, his feathers flaunting their elegance. This feeling in his stomach put him in a wonderful mood. He wished it would never go away! Though, he did wish to know the cause of such a splendid feeling, could it be her? His eyes smlied at her, what a beauty!
Her words were pleasing, had she just called him beautiful? No, that's not what she meant! How foolish to think someone would find him, of all Euclide, to be beautiful! Besides, she was just being kind! But, then why speak his name with such volume? He could hardly hear it, and he loved when she said his name, it made the feeling deepen for a second. 'You like her!' Rayike whispered, teasing him. Could this be true... could he be attracted to her?
"Ah, but such a beautiful Euclide deserves such respect!"

Lakr felt her gaze drawn to his elegant wings, simply yet stunning. She examined and appreciated their beautiful markings before returning her gaze to his own. She was a aware of a feeling forming itself in the pit of her stomach without her permission, and yet she didn't attempt to cut it away. She wasn't quite sure what it was, only that it could be dangerous for her reputation to be actually feeling.
"If you mean by the that I am beautiful, then I must object. Mayhap on the outside, but you have not yet ventured to the inside yet." She responded darkly.
It that moment, she was almost...almost ashamed for what she was. But the feeling lasted only a fleeting second, because how could she be? Being who she was brought her too much pleasure to be denied in the face of morals.

His eyes admired the beauty of her wings as she did his. They were heavily marked with the most splendid of color and pattern. Her responce pained him, and he clicked his beak and flared his eyes at the words. He had seen a glimps of the inside during their time of chat. He longed to see more, he wanted to know everything there was to know about the Poison. She was a creature worthy of his gaze, she was what Rayike called 'eye candy.' However, she was not just sweet to the sight, he was rather fond of her personality, or what she had shown him, anyways.
"Mayhap," he said, still thinking on how to respond, but was unwilling to allow the silence to continue. Perhaps this wasn't the correct way to respond, come to think of it. "You are most certainly one of true beauty," he eyed her, his white eyes hide his desire. Desire for what? This was all so new to him. He no longer fought the feeling in his stomach, finding it quite delightful. "And what I have seen of your inner beauty, I find it to be just as delightful," He spoke the truth, if he did not find her personality to be worthy of his time, he would have left long ago, dispite his new found hatred of lonliness. "We all have our ugliness, every single one of us. But let's not dwell on the darkness, but of the positive, pleasureable quirks we all posess?" These words were not his own, they were spoken straight from the mouth of Sasebyn. How strange that she would say this, she had taken such a distate to the Avain, mostly out of jealousy, for she had not as much time with him since she joined them. Perhaps Lark was not only winning the approval of Rayike and Kaeji himself, but also Sasebyn? And to think, she didn't even know!

Her sharp gaze caught his reaction to her mysterious comment. Inside, she cringed. Was she trying to push him away? She enjoyed his company, to be sure, maybe a tad too much...but would staying with him risk her reputation? Feeling something for an Insanity...feeling something for anyone...that was not the Poisen way.
Something inside her clicked. What of that Puppet Master, Kujien? Did he not have a fondness for a little girl? Was that not worse than having a fondness for another Euclide? She clicked her beak in approval at her revelation. Of course it was! So...maybe these feelings would be, "allowed"?
It was almost with excitement that she replied to him, "True beauty? I thank you, but I must say, I've seen ones of truer beauty than I. And you have seen little of my inner self, though I would be more than willing to show you...my, shall we say, pleasureably quirks?"
Her eyes flashed with an emotion akin to his own...what was she doing, exactly? Even she didn't know.

He knew little about affections, having never felt any before now. His talons tapped the ground, making little noise, but he could not stop the nervous habit. She was so... unpredictable, just another reason why he was so intrested in her. He loved surprised, given he could handle them. "Few can keep me in such suspence, and even fewer can do such a thing and be as beautiful as youself."
What of her inner beauty? It could be just as ugly or beautiful as his own. "Well, granted you'd let me, I'd love to see more of your pleasureable quirks." His beak clicked, he wanted to know so much more about her, there was so much to learn.

Her sharp gaze flicked to his tightly clenched talons. So he, too, was nervous. That thought comforted her ever so slightly; helped to calm her raging stomach, at least. Was this feeling even normal for a ruthless Euclide. She didn't know anymore, she was acting completely out of charatcer now.
"Patience is a virtue, my sweet." she replied, her voice melodic and low with excitement. "And as for beauty? Few can match the one who stands before me."
She thought nothing of her sweet words, as for a Poisen, they come naturally. Only now, they might mean something.
"Shall we go somewhere, or would you prefer to simply talk here, as we are?"
