Did Akin mean his prey, his dinners and breakfasts? How could he feel guilty about preying upon creatures for food? Every creature had to eat... but she decided not to comment on this, for she wasn't sure if this is what the Lapine meant, she wasn't too good at reading into things, just another side effect of not willing to learn. But if that were true, why was he so fascinated by the Soul type?
Perhaps the Lapine was right after all, empathy was both a gift and a curse. Misery, itself, was only a curse, Kaebi lived under Misery's spell, often finding herself craving pity from others, and often she has the desire to bring Misery upon others. "We are all cursed, in our own way," She was unsure of where she was going with this, she stopped there and took a moment to gather her thoughts. "I am cursed with eternal misery, and you with empathy," She lowered her head, stretching her shoulders, "I find pleasure in spreading my misery, perhaps you should try doing the same, spread compassion to others."

'Twas indeed his prey he meant. However, for Akin, dinners and breakfasts were tainted by his own personal curse of empathy. Their terror and pain was so easy to feel, to taste. He could make their descent into the void so much easier, without the torture, and yet, just as he had to feet himself, he also had to feed the sadistic side of him as well.
Tear the humans apart. Ignore their screams, the fear so tangible in the air, just enjoy yourself. It was only afterward, once he was done feeding for the night, that the anguish found him. It varied with how violent he'd been while killing, but the guilt always found him.
Akin turned his gaze from the earth to Kaera, a faintly attempted smile on his muzzle.
"So very true... Everyone is cursed with something, even things others believe to be gifts." He chuckled, a low humorous sound, though it was short lived. "I never thought of it that way..." Surprise tinted the Lapine's voice, an insight he had missed? "Spreading compassion among our kind is...hard, to say the least."

She cocked her head, would it really be that hard? To show other compassion and love, to treat other like you want to be treated, hah, she never imagined herself agreeing with the 'Golden Rule,' she never thought of it to be true. Strange.
She couldn't think of anything to say, there was nothing. She fiddled with a twig, lost in thought. "So... you regret letting yourself slip, letting yourself enjoy a kill, so, as a result you punish yourself," She was talking to herself, gathering her thoughts. There was silence and she had to break it, it was not in her to let silence pro long. "Then don't 'spread' compassion, just be kind and loving towards other," She sighed, what did she think spreading compassion meant? Exactly that. Another example of her speaking with out first thinking.

The Lapine flicked an ear momentarily, realizing he'd misunderstood her comment. A sheepish look crossed his expression.
"Ah...I'm sorry." He touched a paw to his temple, forcing his thoughts into order. "I mistook your words."
Slowly the Script Writer rose to his paws, moving to another grave, an older tomb to peer at.
"I can show compassion to others. There's no trouble in that." A soft smile touched his maw, bringing to mind images of the little human child he basically 'taught'. "It's getting others of our kind to accept this compassion." Light paws traced the tombstone before him, reading the words etched there. "Sure, Euclides grasp manners. We all seem to enjoy playing the aristocrat at times...but compassion is an emotion lacking in most."

It was true, there was not a drop of compassion in Kaera, she loved misery, everything about it, she also got great pleasure in sympathy, but only when it is received, but as for empathy, there was none. Or did she just not know how Compassion feels?
"I guess thats just our race," Her eyes stared far off, "We all feel things, just some feel differently than others," She drifted back into thought, "Aside from our species, we all have very little in common." She had always known this, so many different types, few have anything in common, but the fact had just sunk in. She was alone with her misery, and Akin was alone in his compassion.
"It is okay," She was just now refering to his's apolgy, "I have a habit of speaking without thinking, my words are most often... not so well put," She smiled, and that explanation was a great example.
