I'm sorry to complain about this...but...I really don't know how to react. I was absolutely unable to access the internet for the last two days, and came back last night under the belief that the deadline was April 30th, not the 29th. In a last ditch chance to get an application in, I spent all night writing up an application...only to get to the forum and discover its been closed a day earlier than I believed.

I try hard not to complain about missing deadlines and the like, and when I miss them, I miss them, but as far as I had known up until this morning when I went to send in the application, I had not missed the deadline. This simply...doesn't seem right, especially as I was not the only one under the belief that this contest was ending today, not yesterday.

See... I assumed it closed at midnight.

So I stayed up last night and wrote mine at an insane pace. I probably suffered in quality some for hurrying, and then I felt sorta dumb thinking that oh, maybe they weren't due until sometime today.

Either way I'm glad I made my original assumption, though admittedly if Mem's in another time-zone than me I may be screwed. I sent mine last night literally like a minute before midnight. ^_^;

Also do not state whether Kaemonji gives you the egg or not. I have plans for this. For those two who have sent me entries, you won't lose points, but I'm going to "ignore" those bits. I want to write something akin to a 'bonding' story, once the clutch is closed.

The contest has also been up since the 23rd. I mean...really...people have been trying to get me to be more strict with my deadlines. x.X;; I hate saying no...but...I'm not accepting late entries this time around.

I understand. I didn't expect you to sway the deadline for anyone, I merely had to state my mind on it. Perhaps next time the deadline should be marked more clearly, because although it had been open for sometime...I didn't have any steady time to write up until this morning and so I had been planning to be able to finish it then.

Nevertheless, I don't really like speaking out about things like this, so I'm honestly sorry I did. I dislike causing waves like this. So again, I'm sorry.

Congrats to everyone who did get in, I can't want to see the bebes. <3

*snoogs Mem* You were certainly very clear about the deadline, and even posted a 'ZOMG last day' post so I think you were very thorough <3. However, if it really is an issue, then you might as well throw in 'closes at ___am/pm' so that nobody can claim they didn't know -exactly- when it ended and we can avoid any further confusion ^_^ *purrs*

To be fair, I TOTALLY forgot until ferabird posted her 'ohshizit'sthe29th!' post and I realized I had to shove aside my art and crack down on writing. I suffered a -20% to my mark for incompletion (I could... have had... a freaking... 96 >___<; that guy is a bastard!) but hey, I'm used to passing classes by 5% even if I deserve more XDD.

*nods* While I knew that I wouldn't have time to write up an entry with the craziness of pre-finals insanity, I too had assumed that a deadline of April 30 meant that applications would close at the end of the thirtieth, like they do for classes or shop guidelines unless a specific time is stated. To be honest, I hadn't even read the replies to this thread before today, just the first post, since that contained all the pertinent information of the contest, so I hadn't even seen your 'last day' post on the 29th. ^^; Silly of me, I suppose.

And Tigs...you sacrificed 20% of a project for the contest? Wowie zowie.

Still, I can't wait to see the pretties that result from this. <3

Yeah... I was getting disheartened anyway. I panic when I think I'm going to start rushing myself with my art, and I try to avoid it and pretend like I have a longer time than I do. I shouldn't have lost that 20%, because the only thing that was unfinished was a little 10x15 cm square of background that I didn't know what to do with yet, the rest of everything was filled out and perfectly completed >_> I think I still deserved at least an 85 (Could have had a 95 but he gave me a 70 for 'unfinished work' grar).

But anyway XD sorry for going on and on about that. Obviously we really need a precise time next time, and reading entire contest threads can be a life-saving idea XD.
