The newcomer Chiroptae blanched slightly at Dayobi’s words, stuttering out a reply. “Had I seen you sooner, I would not have spoken such words! I had no idea that Jayensi had brought pleasant company, for once, good Lady… I meant no insult. None at all!” At her offered paw, he took it, bowing low over it.
At Dayobi’s introduction of Furl, the smaller Chiroptae finally took notice of him, peering up to study the Carrion. “Erm, pleased to meet you, good sir Ja'Kaefurl,” he replied, coughing slightly at the smoke Furl had blown his way.
‘Skae, slithering forward slightly, narrowed his eyes at the newcomer, who twitched slightly in response. He was obviously disturbed at the presence of the Naga, and more so at the casual manner the guests were interacting with ‘Skae.
“Yes,” ‘Skae responded to Furl’s question. “I suppose he’s the actor of this theatre,” the Naga continued, and the Chiroptae’s eyes narrowed slightly, suspicious of where the Naga was going with this introduction. “He prefers to speak in lines than in sense, most of the time.”
The Chiroptae glared at the Naga. “More sense in lines than in idle babbling,” he snapped back. He promptly turned away from ‘Skae, in an attempt to ignore the youngling, and addressed the guests once more. “I am Shakaejre,” he stated. “Puppeteer of the Oath type, and very pleased to meet you.”
Jayensi, meanwhile, had recovered himself a bit, and rose, glaring at Shakaejre, to stand near ‘Skae. The Oath, oblivious to the fact that he was basically being set up, offered the Music a brief glare at the movement.
Turning back to Dayobi, he swept his wings open wide. “May I inquire as to what I might be able to do for you and your companion? I cannot imagine how you managed to find your way to this humble place, nor why you’d choose to follow the crazed composer,” he glanced again at Jayensi, disdain in his look, “but if there’s anything I can do for you, please do say so.”
